An Invitation- PPOW

I would like to invite all of you to unite with me, polite and quite contrite

In spite of everything, quite joyous in celebration of Thanksgiving day awaited

We have all benefited from our friendships, I know it has ignited smiles as I write

Fingers on my typewriter in alliteration uninhibited at times, I've built an appetite

Trying to incite you to be excited in the architecture of planning of this meal

We'll have Turkey, in spite of my criteria that it's a inherited dislike of mine

In our home site we had chicken, three, more drumsticks definitely the deal

But I want to please your appetites with each and every bite, politely as we dine

I should itemize my menu, and promise to not increase your cellulite

cook with anthracite on an infinite pot bellied stove, penitence, no microwaving

Ignite flames with tinder, so as not to incite or literally cause smoke

Item after item,will be expedited in cooking, definitely on time while craving

I am literate to a degree, perhaps my cooking is better than what I write

How about yams, do they excite you? Biscuits browned, have a bite

Stuffing for the long awaited bird, succulent and limited in limbs

A prerequisite ,the smashed potatoes, green beans reiterated and invited

See the cranberry sauce unlimited, gravy despite my diet, quite the opposite

Exploited pickles and olives, exquisitely displayed and favorites of mine

Petite buttered corn and peas for those that like it, forfeited by those that don't

and frostbite on the ice cream waiting for the pies, definitely several kinds

As we are united at this table, may I reiterate, how wonderful this is

as we join in this rite together, songwriters and socialites ,story writers too

no spitefulness among us but sprite feelings definitely do abound

loitering at the table as we obliterate the bird, I've profited, wishing it was true
