The Birds of Prey cache is situated just North of Anniston, Alabama in the Fort McClellan area. There were several caches that we found in this area, but this one really stood apart from the others.
Approaching the wooded area, one notices several large aviaries. The log-only micro cache was hidden in the woods near them. What made this cache so cool was the variety of birds kept here. Some of these residents had ailments you could visibly see, like a broken wing. But some of them appeared just fine.
Below are photos of most of the species available for viewing. There was another large cage of birds there but the mesh caging was too difficult to shoot a photo through. It was an overcast day and these shots were taken without flash as to not upset the birds.

Pair of Hawks. I forget what kind.

Pair of Barn Owls.

A Great Horned Owl.

A fluffy Barred owl poses for a photo.

Red Tail Hawk.

Here he's giving me the watchful eye.
This was a fun cache that I really enjoyed. Just another example of showing you something cool that you would normally not even know was there.

Beautiful Birds
Those were amazing shots you captured there.
You might be a little careful, though, when doing these caches around old army bases. Wrong step and ka-boom!
Have a lovely day!
My fav is the first picture....I love the 'pose'!!!!!

A few hawk IDs for you. That top one and the one on the left in the 2-bird shot is a Red-tailed Hawk. The one on the right in that same shot is a Rough-legged Hawk. The one you've ID'd at the bottom as a Red-Tailed is actually a Harris' Hawk.
