So we got our WoTLK expansion and rolled our Death Knights. I want to quit my job now and be a professional WOW player. Really. I don't think there is anything even close to the Death Knight in gaming. By the gods...
First, I love the starting area. It was like being in your own private instance. Blizzard learned from the mistakes of Burning Crusade and instead of having people tripping over each other had separate mini-servers to regulate how many DK's were in a starting area at a time. The final fight at Light Hope Chapel was absolutely amazing. I felt indestructible.
Then going to Stormwind for the first time and the reaction from the guards was priceless! Not expected at all, and completely in line with the story.
So before doing serious questing, I decided to level herbalism and skinning so that I had some professions. I got a lot of achievements done by opening up areas. And somehow I became a hero to gnomes. Thursday I was "Radinka the Gnome Rescuer." First there was the gnome warlock that couldn't find a group for Stockades and asked me to run him through. I can't say no to gnomes. I don't know why. They are too damn cute.
Then in Westfall while raising my herbalism skill, I had to rescue a gnome mage that got jumped by gnolls. Then in Duskwood I had to rescue a gnome warlock that, at 27th level, tried to solo Morgraine the 30th elite. Then down in STV I rescued a gnome warrior from trolls.
But none of this is really impressive. Just funny. I mean, by the time you finish the starting DK quests, you are 58th level, so nothing in any of these areas is a challenge.
Once I got my professions up to the point where I could go somewhere and get XP, I ended up in Un'goro crater.
Now me and the devilsaurs have a long-standing problem. It goes back to how they tortured my gnome mage Akyna way back in the day. So when I saw the first one, I had to attack it. 56th level elite devilsaur versus 58th level DK. Downed the devilsaur in under 20 seconds.
Finally, it was off to the Plaguelands. I wanted to get my Argent Dawn rep up, for the achievements and, well, as a sucker for the whole DK storyline I wanted to do the quests up there. And that is where you realize how sick the DK is. I soloed Ajaj the lich (61 level elite) at 60th level and barely took any damage. Then the most fun was running Scholomance. One 67th level warlock, and three Death Knights (59th, 60th, and 64) cleared the dungeon. The only deaths were from not remembering some of the boss attacks (like poison over time. Two people died because were weren't paying attention). Gandling went down in 30 seconds. He never had a chance to teleport anyone.
So finally made it to Hellfire Penninsula. The only thing I fear is a Fel Reaver...but I think in a few more levels I can solo one. Or maybe two man it. I haven't died with my DK yet. I think I've only been reduced to a third of my health twice, in fact.
BEST POWER EVER: Death Grip. The ultimate pull!
WORST REALIZATION EVER: I will have to eventually replace my uber-cool looking Death Knight Gear. *sigh*

You know what they say: don't fear the Reaver.
I loved the story. I've been spending my time leveling my main so haven't gotten to explore any of the Death Knight chain yet. I love Northrend so far, though. So much to do and see!
