do an online search and compare prices!!!! if you find a place that sells them cheap and has it advertised you can go there, maybe best buy or circuit city... also check Walmart

From what I know, Apple has made a deal with all outside retailers that iPod products have to be sold at the same price that they are sold at Apple stores -- so you won't find any special discounts or sale prices elsewhere. :-/

Sam's has them I think for a decent price. Black Friday doesn't have many good deals out that I can see so far, but a good site to keep checking is Slickdeals.

Yikes...I doubt she needs one THAT big. My husband has a 2 GB and still hasn't filled the memory.

Angela has a an Ipod Shuffle and I think it's fine for a first Ipod...not too complicated but can hold lots of music....and it's about $50 now or so....

Go to the apple.com site and check out the refurbished section. They have the 8GB for $179 and free shipping. Order through mypoints and get points too!

I got mine and Art's daughter's this way. It has the same warranty and everything. We both love ours.

Janet, an Ipod Shuffle was her first mp3 player, now she is on a Zune that I got her for Christmas last year & is close to filling it up - but I can't recall the size of that one.

B.F. - I think the touch is appealing...because she likes the idea of being able to touch it. My brother-in-law has one & let her borrow it, so now I think she is hooked!

I was looking into a new mp3 player for my daughter as well. I don't like the ipods, my great-nephew has one and it's a pita, so I'm looking at a sandisk fuze. I like the features and can add room to it later.
