How Much Do You Pay Your Babysitter?

When I was a babysitter I was paid $2.00 an hour.  At some point or another I earned a raise, and my going rate was $3.00 per hour.  When I had my first child I started a home daycare and charged $15 per child and $25 for 2 siblings.  What do you pay your babysitter now?

back when my 20 yr old and my 18 yr old were little, we paid our babysitter 5.00 per hour. Needless to say, we didn't go out very much.

I haven't used a sitter in many years because we just adapted to not going out or waiting until his or my parents came to alabama for their visits.

If we have a sitter, it's usually a family member or a friend... With the friends we kind of trade off, but we really don't keep track or try to keep it even... We just stick to important things and keep it minimal...

Nothing. I don't have a babysitter. I don't trust anyone with my kids but me.

It's been so long since I needed a sitter.. in the last 3 years I often was a sitter for my grandson but I was never able to charge :)

I do not have a babysitter, but I work as one. I started at $5 an hour four years ago and I am now paid $9 an hour. I get $10 an hour when I work with my brother, but he is special needs and I usually help with homework. I usually charge $8 for one kid when I start with a new family and $10 for two to three kids.
I got paid $3 an hour, unless it ran past 11:00 PM, then I charged $5. My mom came up with that rule so people wouldn't take advantage of me.

I pay my niece when she babysits (and this is family mind you) anywhere from $3-5 per hour depending on how long I'm gone and how early she has to get up to babysit. She tries to refuse my money but I always make her take it cause I don't want to take advantage of her.

Though, I've seen some babysitters around here charging $6-8 an hour. I couldn't afford that.

When I was a sitter I used to charge $5 and hour for one kid, went up from there. I used to Nanny right before college and then some when I was in college and charged a lot more.

Nowadays, it seems to be about minimum wage for a teenage babysitter....and then a dollar or two more per kid after the first. Most will do it for under that, though.

When I used to babysit...I earned between $2-$4 an hour depending on the amount of kids, ages, etc...

My older brother pays his sitters $2 an hour still today...I tell him he needs to raise it, but the sitters seem happy !!

I used to get between $5 and $7 an hour when I babysat and that was some years ago.

I used to make $2 as a babysitter too! I haven't had one for my kids yet.

I pay my daycare lady $25 a day, or $100 a week because he is part time some weeks. Now when my husband and I go out the girl that comes over says $3-5 an hour. I pay her $6-7 though. I just feel like she deserves it because its evening and hard to get a good sitter for my hubby and i to have dinner.
