What I noticed Christmas shopping today...

My mom and I went Christmas shopping for 9 hours today. We figured the stores would be empty and we could get a lot done.  Boy, were we mistaken. We started at the Christmas Tree Shop in Salem, NH and it was MOBBED! Literally, people were everywhere and it took forever to navigate through the entire store.  My mom  and I were in shock. Never have we seen that store so busy, even around the holidays.  The lines were outrageously long. We enjoyed our shopping there though and the Christmas music playing was nice.  We got a lot of shopping done there, then headed to dinner.  We then headed to the mall and again, we thought it would be kind of quiet there....WRONG!  The mall was bustling with people as well.  It was nice to see the stores busy since all I have heard lately is this store and that store are closing down.

So, I just wanted to share that a lot of people are out there spending money and yes, I spent a great deal of money today and loved every second of it!!

Every place we were today was packed too! You would have thought it was the weekend before Christmas or black Friday!

I will do what I always do. wiat until two days before than "get er done"! I think people will still shop this year but they will look harder for the bargains

Middle of the week, in the morning- best time to shop, and even then, this time of year won't mean the stores are dead.

I can't imagine trying to shop while almost ready to deliver- you must have been tired!

yep, me too! I cant wait to start shopping. Its so much fun, but I dont like the crowds either. It will be a little tighter than usual this year due to my hubby not working again, but well make do.

I'm glad to see people are spending money. It should help the retail stores and the economy. I've noticed the same thing here for the past couple of weeks at all the stores.

I think the fact that the stores are worried about the final dollar and having Christmas sales already is the cause for the stores being so crowded already. I find it disgraceful that everyone has forgotten the true meaning behind Christmas and it has become so comercialized.

I love the Christmas Tree Shop, but was so disappointed in the new one that opened here in Portsmouth. It's small. I prefer the one up in Portland, ME!

Went shopping today with 16-year-old son T-Dawg (it was a no-school day) and the stores were pretty empty. Lots of moms and little kids in the mall, though!

I think people are trying to start early because they're combing the stores for sales. Paying it forward.

I love Christmas Shopping, and I'm a glutton for punishment because I don't care how busy it is, how much I have to wait, what I have to do to get what I want. Sure, I get impatient, but the overall thing is: I love it. oh, I need therapy.
