I was just curious as to how many of you already have a Christmas tree up?

Do some of you put a tree up fairly early?

Are there some of you out there that don't put up a tree at all?

 

Discuss.

 

Just a little side note. I am only 60 points away from a $25 gift card and I think it would be awesome if I could cash out for it tonight!!

No tree up til after Thanksgiving. We have put it up as early as the Friday after, or as late as Christmas Eve Day!

NO way. In about a month I'll go through my closet and look for some of my creche (most of it is in the basement storage locker and will stay there forever!!!)

I don't think I'm decorating or putting up a tree this year. Nobody ever comes to my home, so why bother? I'm not going to do it just for myself. When I did put one up, it was always after Thanksgiving; usually after December 1st. I'm canceling Christmas at my house this year.

I try to go one holiday at a time. Haley is already distressed over the fact that stores seem to have skipped Halloween and Thanksgiving and went straight into Christmas.

Right before Thanksgiving we were at the mall and Haley was looking around and said "I think the stores forgot about Halloween. They already have all their Christmas stuff up."

Awwww---Rob---don't cancel Christmas. You could still put up a tree and take photos and the people on Gather can enjoy your tree with you.

The reason I was asking these questions about the trees is.............I went over to a friends house last week and she already had her tree up. I was like OMG---you already have your tree up! She is leaving for 2 weeks during Christmas and she said she wanted to be able to enjoy her tree before she leaves on her trip.

Victoria---We drove by some houses down the street from us that already have Santa Claus blow-ups in their yard. Maddie said to me "Mommy, they forgot that it's Turkey day. They put Santa up instead of a turkey."

We get a real tree so it would be all dried out by Christmas if we put it up now. I don't think the Christmas Tree farms are even open yet.

We don't put our tree up until the day after Thanksgiving. This year will be my first year with a fake tree, so we will see if it feels the same as a real tree. I'm still trying to get ready for thanksgiving, much less Christmas.

We have always had a fake tree due to my allergies. Plus I don't want to pick up pine needles for a month.
Ours will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. If we even put one up this year.

"Nativity scene" might mean "crib" too. I'm not sure.

I'm probably more Druid at heart then Christian if I had to make choices. But I don't have to. So I do the creche and not the Druid tree thing.

I have tons of decorations... I used to collect them..and now they sit in storage and I dont use them. I havent had a tree in a lot of years.. Ho sense in putting one up just for me. nobody really comes to our house and there's no kids here. I go to my sister's house Christmas eve and she has a tree to put all the gifts under, so that's good enough for me :O) I actually do have some early Christmas spirit this year though.. I may buy a small table top tree or a few small things to decorate the house a little bit with this year..maybe a wreath for the door, etc. I'm with Maddie.. it sucks that they start putting out Christmas stuff at Halloween now.. one holiday at a time! LOL

My hubby asked me today if I wanted him to drag the tree out of the shed yet. Not this early. I want to wait until Thanksgiving to put it up.

I am putting my tree up the day before Thanksgiving. When my son gets here, him and my daughter will be decorating it. Then the day after I will be re-decorating it! I am putting mine up a little bit earlier than usual. Most of the time I start dragging everyhting out the day after Thanksgiving. I decorate the house and everything so much that it takes me a couple of weeks. Christmas is the one time of year I lose my mind with decorating. I am a fanatic. Every room. Literally. When we got this big house last year, I really went crazy! We have a 7 ft tall 4 ft wide tree that is fake. We all have allergies. I can't wait to start dragging everything out!

Sounds like Mr. Rob up there is being a scrooge! Rob, you have to put up a tree and you can not cancel christmas!

No tree until after Thanksgiving. It has gotten strange for us as we leave the middle of December and go to Florida for the holiday. So, do we put up the tree? Take it down before we go or come home to it after Christmas? I will put it up...and we have a tiny tree with lights and ornaments for our hotel room.

Mine's up... I finished it last night. But this is not the norm. I usually put it up around Thanksgiving, but I was going to be busy next weekend and I have a boat load of stuff to put up in my yard and today I began that... It takes about 8 days for me to get my outside decorations up.

We havent' put anything up yet, usually not until after Thanksgiving, if at all. Right now we're moving our livingroom around so it'll be after that at some point.

We're late decorators as well, but then tend to leave stuff up for a long time. When I put lights on our cedar rail fence, I love to come home to the colored lights on the snow. It won't get done this year but, as I say about everything now that I'm partially retiring at the end of 2008, "Next Year"!

we took advantage of the nice weather the day after halloween and put the outside lights up ( there not burning yet) and most likely the day after thanksgiving the tree and indoor stuff will go up and the light will come on,, I have had years where it was up before thanksgiving and other years where 2nd week of dec before it made it up , generally it comes down about Jan 2 or 3rd

Well....hopefully we won't be rushing Sugar Boo to the all night emergency room for pets this Thanksgiving...If we can get by with no further brain injuries or other emergencies, than we might just put the tree up after dinner since we're staying home this year...but don't tell my daughter I still got like 9 days and she would drive me completely insane which is a short drive so my husband keeps reminding me :D
