Washington D.C. Abraham Lincoln Memorial

Last week I was in Washington D.C. for work. My company take adults with deveolpmental disabilities on vacation, I was along as a volunteer to help.

While there, I saw many wonderful monuments, museums and more. This is the 1st photo essay - I'm warning you now.....there will be more! :)

The Lincoln Memorial, it is so big!

The front pillars as we came up the stairs.

This was our very first stop in Washington D.C. I really enjoyed seeing this, it was so big & majestic.

Great pictures!! This takes me back. I love going to the Lincoln Memorial and just communing with Abe and looking out over the reflecting pool.

During one window of time in the life of this ole grandma lived and worked in Washington DC. The beautiful trees along the national mall were new and some of them weren't even there at that time. I played softball on a womans softball team and we played on one of the green patches just to the right of the Lincoln memorial. That was before shopping malls made our shopping days comfortable and dry and all the shopping was downtown and I thought riding the electric trolleys downtown was a magic adventure. DC has added many more monuments since then (unfortunately) and I think it's one of our most beautiful cities, expecially in March and April when the cherry blossoms are blooming.

I still remember how excited I was when I first walked the National Mall about 11 years ago. A prettly long walk from Capitol to Lincoln Memorial! Thanks Priscilla for bringing back the memories, it makes me want to go there again. I will try next week.

I've been to D.C. many times and am always amazed by the monuments and memorials. The last time I was there was 6 years ago and I am due for another visit.
