The House of Cards - Easel Musings - Week 21 -non Challenge

One by one the stack grew higher

the cards so fragile as they stood

teetering on the slightest breeze

but standing firm for what was good

Aces, jacks, and kings and queens

numerals too were in the pile

a twist a turn, as the building grew

listing a bit , after awhile

Who lives in this house of cards

You ask, and who there can survive

in this very fragile existence

Will anyone one get out alive

The trembling tower is tilting now

Pressures from all sides abound

The house of cards is teetering

Power seekers all around

Afraid and scared the people are

Watching the growing fire

For the house of cards is tumbling

From within as villians conspire

It takes great strength

To take a stand and hold on very tight

together we'll work and save ourselves

from the Power that spews out fright.

A change is coming to the house of cards

And there have been calling of names

Time to use some common sense

And save the towering house in flames

Anything worth fighting for holds promise

Let's all pull together and be Brave

Only fear can beat us

We have a whole lot to save

Your metaphors are apt for the times we live in and quite descriptive of many public and private personal feelings of angst. You final stanza gives strength and hope, which is good because your poem has a rather spritely flow.

Elsie, a lot of wisdom to this. A lot of wisdom. And then you also add that sense of hope that is so needed, because you are right, these are very frightening times, and it will take level heads and constructive thinking to get us through.
