What's the WORST Holiday Song? Santa Wants to Know!

Ho Ho Ho - Hello Gather!

The holidays are nearly upon us, and those familiar sounds of the season are starting to seep into our lives. On the radio, in the malls, on your iPod (yes boys and girls, even Santa has an iPod) it's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. However, not all holiday songs are music to my ears, if you know what I mean. *wink, wink*

Santa wants to know - what are your LEAST favorite holiday songs? The ones that makes you say, “I’d rather get coal in my stocking than hear that song again?”

 Comment below and Santa will do all he can to make sure that song disappear this holiday season. A little Santa magic just for you!

In general, I LOVE Christmas music! But, the silly ones can get grating near the end. You know the ones... 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer' Alvin & The Chipmunks, and so on... I do laugh every time I hear the Adam Sandler Hanukkah songs though. They are brilliant!

"Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney. Back when I was younger, I worked at a store that played that song every ten minutes ALL DAY LONG during the holidays. Made me want to kill myself.
There's a very old one called "Donde Es Santa Claus' that is very silly, I guess they just wanted to way back when make a semi-Spanish language Christmas song.
I do like another very old silly one called "Chrissy, the Christmas Mouse".

Most of the secular Christmas songs have the singular virtue of being mercifully short.

Running neck and neck for my most hated Christmas songs are the 12 Days of Christmas and the Little Drummer Boy, both of which go on and on and on and on and on far too long.

Well, I have to say one Gather member made a good pick with "Santa Baby" by Madonna. The way she sings that freaks me out. But my choice would be the ORIGINAL version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". Has anyone read the original version of that song? It's one of those 'I may be driven to kill myself if I listen to this again' songs. Seriously, I can't believe how the song originally was written compared to the version that is known today.

I'm not sure. Maybe the one's kids come up with- "Jingle Bells, Santa Smells.." Or "Deck the halls with Santa's....." Yeah, those are pretty bad. ;)

Candy...I agree with you that White Christmas has to be my least favorite song. Living in the Northeast U.S.A. snow means getting out the shovels and digging out. Having a property line that is two blocks long, that's alot of shoveling out...You can imagine how I pray that we don't get a lot of snow every winter

I agree that the Hippo song is cheesy, but it was made for a good cause, and if only heard once a year it can be cute

I guess it would have to be "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" ~ pretty stupid, and the tune sure is lousy as well! There are others I've heard that make me want to give myself a swirly, but I can't think of them at the moment. I've never heard "Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas" by John Denver, but I can't imagine a Christmas song with those words! Geez.... Groan!

I think that the worst Christmas songs there is, is the poor remakes by artists that call themselves artists who should of stayed home and not recoreded in the first place only to ruin good ole holiday songs. There is one, the dumb dog song, I can see it now, a cat one soon to be released. lol..oh oh I think I gave someone an idea!! sorry:)

I hate that song! CCF (Christian Children's Fund) uses it for a sponsor-a-child campaign, and they haven't changed their commercial in 20 years. A very depressing song to me. My husband's not really nuts about that song either.

Baby it's cold outside. I guess it's not really Christmas but it comes on a lot at this time of the year. Also grandma got run over by a reindeer and Christmas Shoes that song makes me cry and I just want to be happy over the holidays

I dont think I really disliked any of them the first time I heard them, but by the time Christmas rolls around Im sick to death of them all.

If I had to pick it would be any of them with dogs/cats doing the song.
