I have a problem that I thought maybe some brilliant person out there could help me with. I've been trying to eat less as well as drink more water. I'm certainly not starving myself. I just realize that I need less food than I think I do. I'm only 5' tall to begin with, so I figure that I don't really need as much as people who are taller. My husband and I usually eat dinner about 5 o'clock or so. We normally have some type of a snack at 8 o'clock, but a lot of times when 8 rolls around, I want to eat everything in sight. I can't make up my mind whether I'm eating less so I need to eat more often. Do I need to have more protein with my snack? Or if I'm just having a craving for food, because I'm trying to eat less. Anybody have any tips or advice?

If you're like me and crave sweets at night you may want to try 5 small meals instead of 3.
And yup, more protein (low on the bad carbs). Do you like low fat cheeses? Or lean meats?
For a snack at night I would suggest something with peanut butter and/or cheese. I started having cheese and crackers around snack time, and the protein in the cheese also helped keep my sugar up through the night.
Calorieking.com has listings for calories, fat, protein and fiber for all foods. You may want to check them out. That way you can make better choices for foods with a higher protein to fat ratio, like chicken.
Good luck, you CAN do it!
Eats LOTS of celery, it's yummy and healthy. Eat lots of beans and tofu hamburgers.
NO bread - no wheat starch !!!
Maybe more protein with the 5 o'clock meal will help that feeling of fullness last longer - as will a salad - fiber helps.
Are you keeping a food diary - what you eat, when you eat, how hungry you were before eating and what mood you are in.
