I just recently finished reading book five, Valentine's Exile, of author E.E. Knight's excellent Vampire Earth series. I've been reading the last three books back to back, but will take a brief break after this one.
Fans of the series will surely enjoy the continued adventures of the hero, but this book doesn't have as much action as the previous novels. Some very bad things happen to David Valentine in this story, and he ends up as a fugitive hiding out in Memphis, where he's looking for a friend's missing wife. What he finds is something truly horrible.
If you haven't checked out the Vampire Earth series, which is about vampire-like aliens taking over the Earth, you should definitely do so if you are into post-apocalytpic science fiction.
