I like to look at the people section and see what kind of stuff the top viewers are posting. In this case...the top viewer has over 2000 views and yet not one single post. I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong, but I am curious how this happens? I have seen this happen before.
The listing you are referring to takes ALL content into consideration (posts, photos and videos). The person with over 2,000 views published MANY photos in the last 24 hours and each of them have 3 page views (NO comments though). Therefore, these views add up to over 2,000.
Since I am relatively new to Gather I have no clue about exactly how points acrue. I find myself reading 'OTHER' posts that are months or years old and wonder if the authors are still being awarded their view credits. Still muddling my way around here and interested in seeing how the flavor will change POST election.
I just let the Gather powers that be do their thing and am grateful for the chance to not only earn points for stuff I'd do anyway but also to meet up with new and interesting online friends. This site rocks!
The most I have ever done was around 500 or 600 views and that was when I was trying really hard to get the cash option and spending way to many hours on here.
The common theme here appears to be "I haven't a clue" And I'm certainly in that group. I have only recently joined (I think) and so far am totally confused. I was invited to join other groups, but when I tried was told my email address and password were already in use. Today I'm no further ahead, probably not all the fault of the site, I'm not the sharpest knife in the draw where computers are concerned
ask them and let us know! I don't have much posted at all, but I do TONS of viewing most days.. and I've gotten a lot of points for my viewing -- but not THAT many! I consider it a good day if I get more than 100 points! : )
