For those who don't live in my area, you may have experienced a similar experience.

Okay...so tonight I thought that I would get a head start on getting a few more Christmas decorations. So I popped over to a couple of my favorite stores and Wal-Mart at College Park in The Woodlands, is one of them.
How surprising to find that there hasn't been one review on this store? I've never thought about reviewing it until now and obviously neither did anyone else. Now...I guess it's because we've all come to expect the same thing from Wal-Mart. Oddly enough...I am finding more and more that not all Wal-Mart's are alike. I have even found where one Wal-Mart might carry one item and yet another Wal-Mart will not. It can be frustrating...because I will drive all across town to another store and realize they don't carry it, even though I was told that they did.
First of all...one thing that I do like about this store is that you can find many items in this store a lot cheaper. I have actually compared several Wal-Mart's in the area and this one is the cheapest and offers more organic food items. In fact they are known for carrying more organic foods in this store than all the other Walmart's in the area.
You would think that all the prices would be the same? But no...they're not. Take for instance... The Christmas lights at this store go for $2.38 a box. The Wal-Mart store a few miles down the road off of Louetta, carry them for $2.44 a box. How odd that they are .06 cents a box more, but they are... I've seen the same price variation with appliances. Where in some cases there is a $20 or more difference.
This store also tends to keep things in stock. Not to say that I haven't had them run out of a favorite item...but I end up shopping here more because I tend to find everything on a regular basis.
You also get through the lines quicker in this store. The management keeps the registers occupied so it makes getting in and out a lot faster.
The only thing that was a bummer this year, is that they are not carrying as many diversified Christmas items as they did last year. I didn't find much that tickled my fancy and what they are carrying are just the basic generic stuff and the prices are higher this year too.
I ended up popping over to Garden Ridge right next door... (Sssshhhh!!! Don't tell Wal-Mart...) Anyway...this store also has gas pumps and many times I've found their prices cheaper too! Kind of strange. Huh??? Since one would assume that you would be paying more because of the area.
All and all I enjoy this Wal-Mart. So...I'll more than likely keep feeding them the green...and they will continue to keep me in the red. LOL... And life will just go on...I suppose???
It's hard to believe the holidays are here again. Where does the time go???

Janet, our Wal-Mart tried to do away with fabric but the town pput ujp a fit about that! We have no other place to get fabric so the management decided to keep it in stock. I am so glad that they listened. I just bought 12 yards of material to make my living room drapes. It's so beautiful.
Lindsay, sorry to hear that you hate me. I don't believe I did anything to you to provoke that hate. Why should you care where I shop? Or where Steph-in-NE's hubby works. Why not turn that hate into a useful emotion, like tolerance and go from there.
We bought a bunch of Christmas things after the holiday last year, so we should be set for this year. Now if I could just remember where I stashed it all!
Have a good week!
its just, my local walmart is VERY close to a major city that is not known for its friendly people.. Actually one of the highest murder rates per capita. You can image the LOVELY people that shop there because its cheap.. Its just a horrible place with horrible people.. AND its NEVER clean..
now, out in the midewest in Illinois, i went to a walmart (about the ONLY store in the town) and it was GORGEOUS! the people were friendly and everything was VERY clean..
SO it all depends.. but for me, where i live. i avoid it
Is it Friday yet??
When I do have to make a Walmart run, I go to the one in the next town. The new Supercenter here may be larger, but it doesn't have the variety.
