"Black Eyed Peas." is what he told me. That is the name of Will.i.am's group, and I have been following this very talented man ever since, from his collaboration with Sergio Mendes to his current tributes to President-elect Obama.
I dig his stuff!
He wrote this one November 3, 2008, because (he says) he had a feeling in his heart that, then "Senator" Obama would prevail in the election; he was right! It IS a wonderful new day!

One final thing: just in case you didn't know, the hotels in D.C. are all booked up for January, which means the surrounding areas (Virginia [like Arlington], nearest Maryland areas, as far as I could determine.) Better have friends or relatives in the area,

But seriously, a limited number of tickets for the inauguration are available through your congressperson, although I am not kidding about the hotels.

Let me see here:
Having to purchase chains that I really didn't need, + installation and removal = $150.00
Speeding ticket for going 22 mph in a 15 mph zone, where no sign was posted in an area that my brother says is a common ticket trap = $130. (It doesn't include what I shall have to pay for traffic school.)
Total expenses, from start to finish of that trip to Nevada (receipts), which must remain within FEC guidelines under $2,300 as it was related to an election campaign including contributions and donations = $1,400.
Was it worth it all, meaning seeing A New Day = . . .yeah, BABY!!! PRICELESS!!!,
(especially, getting back to California and seeing the laughter and smiles on the CHP's face!!!), i.e.,

Thanks for posting this. Will I. Am really got the word out with his music throughout the campaign. Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crowe, Billy Joel, Sean Combs, Missy Elliot - so many went out and used their musical talents to draw people in and rock the vote like never before.
I am hoping there will be an artistic renaissance in this country. Music, art, theatre - all are so important to the well being of people. It's what keeps me going!

Who would think that anyone would ever get a ticket for going 22MPH? The little 90 year old lady on my block usually drives faster than that! ;-)

My thing about that one is that I think my future Step Son is graduating Marine Boot Camp at that same time and if there is room for me to go (limited tickets) I would love to accompany his most beautiful mother down to Parrish Island for that momentous day. She will be very proud that day, ah heck she already is. She will be no where near with the pride level as she will be with the true happiness and love level just to get to see him that day. I think not only will I want to be there to see him graduate, I also (maybe even more so) want to be there just to see how happy she is to see him!
So we'll have to see how that looks before I open the "Bob C. Inauguration B&B" for those days! :-)

Since I left for Nevada, I took all of my Obama programming out of the satellite. It would have merely just deleted itself out anyway, since there are so, so, so many Obama programs now being aired, just everytime I look. In other words, I missed him
