It's important not to rotate your head around in arc-type, revolving movements (like many stretching exercises encourage you to do) or do quick movements, as that can actually trigger a migraine if you're prone to them.
I wish you the best in getting help with these.

It would help if you keep a diary of your triggers - what you are doing and eating the days and hours before a migraine to help know when one is coming - then you can treat it the earliest with whatever medication works best. Even if it standard stuff like washing the dishes, if you have a neck problem then you can trigger one being at a bad angle. Another issue could be getting your vision checked - having the wrong eye glass prescription can cause it. If you can identify any aura symptoms (seeing flashing lights or sparks, sensitivity to light or noise or smells before the pain actually starts) then write those down as they are diagnostic. If you can take your meds - even ibuprofen before the migraine gets too progressed - At least it will not progress as much or last as long. There is success with using antidepressants, not becuase you are depressed or something is wrong with you emotionally, but it is similar electrical activity in the brain and can be calmed down even if you break the cycle - this is very effective in people who are known to have migraines but the source is not known - however they want treatment before they go through months of expensive tests and treatments. After a migraine there is a sleep off period that is necessary to get your brain back to normal - your normally night time sleep does not count. Talk to your doctor and if he blows it off as stress or your period or something - talk to a new doctor. Bring the diary to him - it will help isolate foods or activities or where you are in your cycle (it sounds crazy but some women do better with migraines once they go on the pill) when the migraine hits. You might also want to see a TMJ doctor - oral surgeon or ENT (not necessarily a chiropractor unless you know one you already trust) and get a check on the disks in your neck. Best wishes!
