Here are some pics of our pumpkin carving this year. Maddie had so much fun helping carve her pumpkin!! She also had fun helping us get out all the seeds and guts from the pumpkins! We saved a lot of the seeds and baked them. Maddie just loves eating pumpkin seeds!

yes I know I have a messy kitchen please ignore all that.. I usually keep it nice and clean.

Now David starts carving out Maddies pumpkin:

and I started to draw my design. I did mine freehand, he used a pattern for his and Madelines pumpkins. I used a permanent marker, but kept a cloth and some rubbing alcohol beside me to clean up lines where I messed up and redraw them.

Once Daddy was done carving the big parts of Maddies pumpkin she decided it wasn't quite to her liking yet, so she added a few finishing touches to it :)
(and don't worry, those are those cheap carving knives that you buy at the store and there is no way she could have hurt herself with them. In fact hubby broke 2 of them doing his pumpkin)

and time to put the top on and go see if mommy needs help finishing her pumpkin. (Somewhere in the middle she pulled her pants off and decided she didn't need them..)

Then Daddy came back in and started on his. He had a bit more complicated of a carving pattern, and was not too happy of me to try and take a pic of him when he did not have his shirt on, so this is the only pic i have of him carving:

And the final results:

looks a lot better in the dark with a candle in it:

My kids didn't want to carve this year!!!! THEY decided to paint the pumpkins instead. It was still a lot of fun.
