We went to the mall for trick or treating this year, just like we did last year. ALtho this year it was a differnet mall since we moved in July from FL to IL.
Maddie loves cats and so she wanted to be a kitty cat for Halloween! We got the costume on sale at Old Navy for only like $11. A lot of people seemed confused and couldn't tell what she was. I got all sorts of questions asking if she was all sorts of different things, from a skunk to a bunny, to several other things.
At first Maddie was shy and well I think she was a bit distracted by all the other kids and all that was going on. But once she realized she was getting candy she was excited and happily hopped up to the people and held out her basket.
We had taught her to say trick or treat, and she knows how to say Thank you, but she was being too shy to say either, so we just said thank you for her.
Here are a few pics of our Trick or Treating.
as soon as we got in the mall she wanted to get in the car stollers. Every time we go to the grocery store she gets to ride in the car carts there.

Then we began going around to the stores and getting candy:

untill she saw the ride on things and wanted to ride on them all:

Then we had about had enough of the mall and all the craziness so we headed home:
I think she thought I was going to take her bucket away!

Once we got home she was more interested in having her U.S Cellular Ball blown up than she was about any of her candy!

Then she could move on to the candy!

She got mostly tootsie rolls, dumdum suckers, and jaw breakers. But she got some pretty good stuff too!
I can't believe that people would actually be dumb enough to look at a toddler then still put a jaw breaker in their bucket though... I mean they could have chose something else to give her, like another tootsie roll, lol.
Some people were a little smarter about the lil kids. She got some teddy grahams, a granola bar, stickers from several places, and Subway was giving everyone sugar cookies! She had a good time, and really didn't end up eating too much candy. She was so tired from all the trick or treating excitement and from not taking her nap taht she was ready for bed soon after we got home.
She had lots of fun, and did get quite a bit of candy, but a lot of it was stuff that I had to take out of her bucket (like TONS of jaw breakers) because I didn't want her to choke on it. I don't care for those either, so they all went in the trash.
Thanks for reading about our Trick or Treating adventure.
