OK! OK! So finally, the time has come. Our baby girl is soon to be arriving into the real world. I'm excited, but what can I say? NERVOUS! I feel like screaming with joy that she will soon be born and I won't have anymore pregnancy heartburn, but I'm worry about whether she will be healthy or not.
They did do the amnio-fluid test and yesterday, the OB/GYN discussed results with us, that by the fluid test, I am approximately 36 weeks and this upcoming week, I will be 37 weeks. My first oldest daughter was born at 7 lb, 2 oz, 36 weeks, being a bigger baby and a length of 21 1/2 inches.
He told us if she would be born this week, she would have a 5% chance out of 633 babies to have problems, but if she be born next week, it would go down to 1% and so, he thought next week would be better suited, unless I can hold off longer. Probably won't be able to. I have been already having contractions and my stomach hurts constantly when I walk and last night, I laid in bed, crying in pain. My water hasn't broke, but I have already lost my mucous plug and he is also aware of this and still going with next week.
I asked him about her weight and so far, she is estimated at 5 lbs, but next week, I should be 3000 grams or something which he is estimating 6 1/2 pounds. So now my biggest worry is; some have stated 6 1/2 pounds is considered Preemie, but a lot of people told me 5-7 lbs is considered the healthy range.
She may pop out and be bigger and surprise everyone, but say she happens to be 5 to 6 1/2 pounds? Can she still be considered a healthy baby?
The reason I'm worried is because I didn't gain half as much as I did with my last pregnancy (only gained 26 lb range with this pregnancy) and my stomach is more tight/contained with this pregnancy, not much fat, and it looks like I'm smaller, but everyone tells me I'm bigger with this one because I show with this pregnancy unlike my other one, I didn't show. So I'm just worried maybe in a small contained space, looking like nothing or that my stomach is small, wouldn't my baby be small? What is your experience? I look like a basketball as for my oldest daughter, I looked flat and flubby (fat like in the stomach), but this one is small and round like a basketball, so I'm wondering if the baby will be healthy. What is your thought? ::Sighs::
PS. I know I should trust the doctor (OB/GYN) by now, which I do, don't get me wrong, he delivered my last daughter and she was healthy, but I'm just worried and scared as it gets closer to time. ::Nervous laughs::

good luck.
that is the day before my youngest's birthday.......
did you gain it in your butt this time ? ? ?
the opposite sex this time, maybe..........
Try not to let yourself get all worried. You are far enough along that the chance of your daughter having any problems is low, and at most it may be her lungs needing developed more, but if the doctor is worried about that then you have probably already had shots to help that along.
I have gained less so far this time around too. WIth Maddie I had already gained a lot more by now. This time I am 21 weeks and have gained 4lbs. I still have a ways to go though, and the most weight is still going to be put on. But I weighed more already at this point with her. I don't want to gain as much as I did with her because I gained about 40lbs or a little more with her and it took me 2yrs to get it all off.
Listen to your doctor, they know what they are doing.
The best you can do for your child, is not worry. Stress is never good. Trust, and just breathe deeply.
That was 40 years ago and he has always been healthy. I think there is a picture of him in my family album. with his daughter. The picture is mostly of her. LOL
Try not to worry. As others have said, worry isn’t good for you or the baby. Can’t wait to hear the good news and see photos!
