TGIF!!
I hope everyone has recovered from the election hoopla earlier this week. I read some very passionate posts here on Gather and it's great that people were invested in something so important.
Personally, I spent the remainder of the week caring for a sick child, and raking many, many leaves. My back could use a break, so I'm hoping to find many good posts to read today.
As winter approaches and cold weather for many of us, it can be a good time to get some reading and writing done. I like to sit in front of a roaring fire with my laptop and a cup of coffee, my dog curled up next to me. I open my iTunes and select my classical CD's that I've copied (great music for keeping you focused) and if I'm lucky, I'll get some words down that are relatively pleasing.
It's also a great time to think about writing a piece for submission. Today I'll be re-posting a short article I wrote in April about a great and often overlooked literary journal that offers
some nice monetary incentives.
As always, Friday here is dedicated to creative writing, so go create already!

So in this group you have to get selected to post to it? I tried to submit. Did it come through or did it just not get selected? I am fine with not getting selected, but I'm just not sure if I did it right and if it got submitted at all. Could someone help a newb out? And thanks for providing this forum!

I think you are onto something. There is nothing like a fire and hot cup of chocolate laced with peppermint Schnapps to attract the muse.
PS- I need the music too; total quiet is deafening to me. What can I say, I'm weird. :)
