Crap, I have a head cold...

Nick woke up on Saturday with a scratchy throat. We figured it was due to trick or treating. It strengthened to a horrid head cold, which wound up with him taking a half day off on Monday, then going in late on Tuesday because he couldn't sleep.

Today, my throat was scratchy, then flemmy- I have spent a good deal of time clearing my throat today. Now, my nose is filling up, and the pressure is building. :(

And I think we are out of the medicine I use when I get a head cold. I can't take most stuff, I am hyper-sensitive to a lot of medications. They leave me feeling very buzzed and shaky the next day, and drowsy for quite a while as well. I just feel GROSS on most OTC meds.

I really hope this goes away fast.

another thing that is great for the throat is warm milk and honey, it sounds gross but it really helps

Boil and onion with salt added and drink the liquid. Seriously. It tastes horrible but BAM the cold will be gone! Or get some homeopathic ZICAM. I don't dread colds anymore with the CAM!

Sorry you don't feel good. I had the scratchy throat thing for 2 days. I finally took Benadryl lastnight and it helped. My husband can't take most otc things like you. Get better soon!

Bummer! Most meds make me sleepy too and at my age I can't afford to sleep my life away. Get well soon.

Ugh. I can't take most otc meds either. For sure not if my husband has to work, because I have a hard time waking up when I go to sleep. I don't hear my son call for me when he's ready to get up if I'm asleep and have had otc meds.

So sorry . . . I've had a sinus infection since Saturday morning myself. Today was the first day I started feeling anywhere away from awful. Any time the weather fluctuates it gets me!

I'm counting the days until I get one, too. I work with the public, so I tend to catch a lot of things. But, the last time I caught the flu, it was from a co-worker who just didn't want to take a day off work. He got a lot of other people sick, too.

I am sorry I hope you get to feeling better soon. If you do have a cold get to your doctor as soon as you can. I have a headace myself due to having bad sinuses. Take care

sorry to hear that you're getting sick.. it's the worst ! i've been sick since last saturday.. & i have a doctor's appointment for tomorrow morning because i think i may have strept throat.. but i hope you feel better sooon !
We just ran to the store, where I grabbed the liquid meds I use, plus nasel spray, and cough drops for if my throat gets sore (Nick's did). He didn't take med's so maybe if I do, it won't get as bad- or at least won't feel as bad. ;)

There isn't any school tomorrow, though, so at least I get to sleep in. :-D
