Gather is all about great friends and great conversation. That’s the main reason we show up here everyday.
But there’s also a great fringe benefit to being a Gather member; Gather rewards!
Princess Spanky Pants (The Real, Original Heather T) says it best: “I wanted to take a moment to post a "Thank You Gather" post- not just because of the milk contest, but because you provide a decent site, you let us all speak our minds, and you provide small prizes, points, and gift cards for a lot of people who can really use it right now.”
As you know, every member earns Gather Points and also has many opportunities to win books, gift cards, photo shoots, CD’s, concert ticket, publishing contracts, prize packs, and more!
In these tough economic times, how will you use your Gather Points and Gather Giveaways to help you have a happier holiday season?

If I get extra the points will be saved for a PayPal deposit!
I have to say The Lord will provide...and he has through Gather. Winning the Stouffer's contest and getting the gc's made it so we could buy food for the rest of the month. You don't realize exactly how much that helped us, since the prices of everything have gone so high. So Thank you Gather.
Gather is the best site ... not just for the points, but a place for people who can express themselves.
And Gather
Two of the three Nourish Your Morning books I received will be given to family as gifts, another book that I received is going to another Gather member for Christmas. The $150. gift card for the Snapshot to Savings contest will most likely be used for groceries to have a wonderful family feast.
I cashed in a few weeks ago for $375 in paypal & Target ($350/$25) which was earmarked for Christmas shopping. It wound up being just in time- this past weekend, there was a good sale on something we had planned to get for Gilly, so we were able to buy it already!
As a stay at home mom, I love that I am able to earn some extra money & gift cards here to use for spending money, or gifts. I feel like I can provide something for my family!
So, Thank you again, Gather!
However, the articles I read on Gather have lifted my spirits and inspired me so much that it definitely will be a better Christmas because of Gather.
I am almost done with Christmas shopping and Gather has been a huge help. In fact last years Christmas was done all through Gather and it will be again this year. Our Christmas tree will be bought with my Gather earnings and last year I bought loads of Christmas decorations on a 50-75 percent off sale at target by using my Gather earnings. I also won Celine Dion tickets through Gather, which will be my husband's main Christmas present.
As a stay-at-home mom Gather is my way of helping out my family financially, and I am really amazed what a big difference it makes. Before I found Gather I felt very anxious of the fact that I had no earnings of my own, and not only does Gather provide this opportunity for me, but this site has also opened many doors for me.
Thank you Team Gather!
Gather is awesome. I absolutely love it here. I would be here with or without the points though. This has become a haven for me in hard times. :)
The points I've gotten usually end up being spent at Borders or Amazon for books, gifts, and cards. Last year, there were a lot of great presents from Borders to my friends and family courtesy of Gather, and I hope this year will repeat that.
Even more than that, Gather conversation provides ideas for the holiday season: new books to buy, meals to celebrate, shopping advice (Black Friday and Cyber Monday, anyone?), and a sharing with Gather friends of all these ideas and celebrations through articles and photos that capture the spirit of the season.
Gather has become part of the family, and points and prizes are part of making merry!
I too, love Gather. I thank you for allowing me a place to vent, a place to come to see my friends and a place to earn points and prizes. Yes, I was frustrated with the upgrade to Jagger, but I did not see the need to go on and on about all the problems that it was causing. I saw numerous posts to the Help Center and numerous posts that were not sent to the Help Center that were directing their rage at Gather for upgrading and causing a mess. I need to get on my soapbox here. People at this site need to realize that this site is free to the members. We get to enjoy all the benefits of everything Gather has to offer and then some. That then some is something that Gather doesn't have to do. Gather gives us points for "gathering" and then we can turn in those points for cash and gift cards. Gather also holds numerous contests and giveaways constantly. All for us.
And we, as the community, can't handle a few glitches in the system without constantly whining to other members? Yes, there are problems. But, with every new toy they give us, some kind of glitch is bound to occur. Those are human beings that created that code, people. And human beings make mistakes. Can't we cut them a little slack? I mean, come on, they do so much for us. The least we can do is not whine. The best we could do is say, "Thank you, for all that you do."
Those of us that are foreigners cannot parlay our points into prizes.
One of these days, Gather WILL provide a level playing field so that the foreigners have the same rights as US citizens!
Gather could help me have a happier holiday season if they made those annoying expanding ads stop expanding (particularly the ones near the navigation bars that force members to take detours to move from one navigation bar to another to keep the annoying ads from expanding). That would be the best present you could give me and the few remaining members who haven't blocked all Gather ads already because of them.
It almost takes my mind off the fact that Gather is unfair to foreigners!
I have learned a lot on Gather and found some great gift ideas and recipes. Its nice to be able to talk with friends each day.
Seriously though, it isn't just about what I earn from Gather in prizes and cash, it is what I have gained through Gather and my connections. That is priceless.
It seems that the necessities are taking all of my money. I hope to be able to make some cash this month to purchase the food for Christmas Dinner.
I have only cashed out twice...the Target card bought presents for my son (he hit us hard being born three weeks before Christmas, LOL!) and Starbucks for my husband's stocking. My next one will be a Macy's card to help buy my husband's favorite cologne.
It's not just the bonuses that Gather offers...the members have contributed too! I have found great freebies from some of the many people who are kind enough to search them out and share them. Kid's DVDs for my son, a CD of my husband's favorite gospel group...the little things that I don't have to worry about now!
I have also found inspiration from other people's ideas. I love Connie's "...in a jar" recipes, and I hope to try these out for my coworkers. I love the craft ideas, and I plan to let Elliott make his own Christmas cards this year.
There are great people and ideas on Gather, and I love finding them!
(hehe).
I donate my earnings toward textbooks and subscriptions for students. I got the idea from Bongo Mirror when he was an active member here. Gather can help me do that by staying viable as a means of earning some extra income.
(sorry for the shameless plug, but i'm seriously in need here)
& helping others on gather earn points for the holidays as well !
Gather will pretty much be providing all the Christmas presents that I need to buy this holiday season. I have been saving almost all of my gather earnings since the beginning of the year & I plan on maximizing my dollars by shopping on Black Friday for as many gifts as I can.
I truly appreciate gather, the earnings that are possible & the wonderful friends I have made as well~
Thank you gather for letting me say what I want to say and paying me to do it!
Hmmmm......maybe I'll turn in my points for a little something to put in my OWN stocking!
Happy Holidays, Everyone!

I LOVE the gift cards we can get here! Thanks!
I enjoy getting feedback on those photos from many different people..it helps me expand.
I have enjoyed the poetry, short stories and companionship from my Gather family..for this I give Thanks...
What will I do with the fluff...good question..I'll think about it....
I recently won a cancer survirors book called What Helped Get Me through, By Julie Silver. My husband had a recent cancer scare. After a biopsy they do not think he has cancer, but he will be having surgery next week. He has had a lot of cancer in his family. I look forward to reading this book and then plan to pass it on to his sister who has been treated for leukemia this past year.

Getting back to Christmas! Gather has given me a something more to look forward to during the holidays....talking to all my friends on here during this special time of year.Being a person who suffers from social aneixty..this place is the best!
ANYWAY, since we have such a tiny budget I will use rewards from sites like Gather and Mypoints to do some shopping. Likely I will go to the stores (or shop online) myself so that I can get more gifts for more people. I wouldn't be able to do Christmas this year if it weren't for Gather!
I love all the contests and interaction with my on-line friends. So far I've used my gift cards and cash for home decor and gardening projects - it doesn't get any better than that.
For Christmas - I'd love to see a few bonus points to help with our current renovation project and a nice gift card for my son.

I'm going to go through the books I've gotten through Gather and decide who to share them with for Christmas. I have many friends who love to read so this will be a joy.
I'm a newbie here, so I am still trying to figure the site out. It's great that I can earn points, but not sure how? Is it just by posting or visiting?
