I missed a great shot of one of the local deer earlier today. She was standing near the house when I let the dogs out; they were actually out the door before I realized that there was a doe out there. Oh, the dogs didn't bother her, but little ol' me with a camera caused her to flee! I love deer logic.... Guess she isn't the one that had come close to me before.
Have you every missed a great shot?

Lisa, I've gotten some of the deer around here, but that was just so close.... It was closer than the closest shot I've captured to date, and I would've loved to have caught it.
I also missed a deer the other day. We were on the highway and figuring that traffic must be slowing down for an accident. Turned out there was a deer at the side of the road. Poor thing must have been hit and got up. It was standing, but bleeding from the mouth.
Marilyn, I hope that someone stopped and ended the poor deer's suffering. I had the misfortune of hitting one last year, and she didn't die immediately. Thankfully, a man who was behind me stopped, checked on my well-being and put the poor doe out of her misery.

Have a wonderful day!
I have missed really good shots of great blue herons and other birds rarely spotted around here.
