What do you think of the actor playing Edward...

I just got into Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series about a month ago and am really excited for the movie coming out this month. I'm a little disappointed by the choice of casting though.

Robert Pattinson (who played Ceddric Diggory in the Harry Pottery movies) is going to be playing vampire Edward Cullen. He's not at all all how I envision Edward when I read the books though. Instead I think of him as Paul Walker. I suppose Paul Walker isn't the best choice considering he's 35 and Edward is 17. But he's a complete hottie and I don't get tired picturing him while I'm reading the book.

Any thoughts on who you would choose to play the role of Edward Cullen?

I am reading Twilight now and I envisioned someone who looked like a younger Johnny Depp in the role. Someone more mysterious with sex appeal. I am disappointed too!

I am not thrilled by the casting either....I envision Edward more like Chad Michael Murry (he's about the right age I think)

I agree, I pictured someone much more "god-like"...but I'm hoping that Robert Pattison doesn't disappoint!

Janet, I hadn't thought about Chad Michael Murry before, but I think he'd actually make a pretty good Edward as well.

I saw the movie last Sunday. (It was alright but not as good as the book.) I'm still disappointed in Robert Pattinson playing Edward after watching it! But I do love Emmett! ;)

I must be the only one that LOVED Rob P as Edward Cullen. I thought he did a fantastic job of making him this really "tormented" creature. I loved it. Saw it twice. Can't wait to see it again! :)

I think Rob Pattinson was PERFECT as Edward. I can't think of anyone who could've played the role better! I saw the movie BEFORE I read the book, maybe that made the difference. We already have our tickets for New Moon's opening night, and are very excited to see what they did with that book.
