Ladies and gentlemen...
Hobos and tramps...
Non-eating mosquitoes...
And "bow" legged ants...
I am here to tell you a story...you know nothin' about...
One bright mornin'...in the middle of the night...
Two dead soldiers...began to fight...
Back to back...they faced each other...
Drew their swords...and shot each other...
Now... If you don't believe...that this story is true...
Go ask the blind man...he saw it too...
Disclaimer: Courtesy of my mom...(Of course...I have no earthly idea where she heard it??? She and I...one night...decided to sit outside one evening in Jacksonville Beach and just shoot the breeze. We got so silly...we just started tellin' funny and stupid stories. Who knows??? She might have made it up??? Not sure though...but that is one memory I never want to forget. I miss her terribly!!!)

Mooch
Mother had two lullabies she sang to us:
"A monkey he got drunk
And ran up the elephant's trunk.
The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees
And that was the end of the monk, monk, monk."
Another went:
"Birds in a nest
Nest in a tree
"Under mother's breast,
Safe as safe can be.
Mamma keeps them warm.
Daddy brings them food,
Under mother's breast.
Happy little brood."
Now, how's that for bringing back a memory from 65 years ago?
Like you Teresa, I often find myself talking to my mom, and she died 21 years ago. They are always with us.
