Disappointed, I didn't get to vote!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to vote. I looked all over the house for my voting registration card from the DMV, but I couldn't find it anywhere! I'm not sure if my father or man burned it accidentally or threw it away, not knowing what it is. I'm still frustrated, that this was my first year, and I didn't get to vote.

Oh well, sighs... I guess I will get to vote in the next election for Presidency. I don't think one vote will make too much difference, but who knows? I had my hopes up, looking around the house, but I was told by my stepfather that you have to have your registration card, along with your state I.D. or else, you cannot vote. So, now I'm bummered about the situation, but I know there will probably be many other times to show my pride as a citizen and make a difference.

 

How did election and voting go for everyone else? Did you wait in long lines for hours?    ;)

I was in and out in 10 mins with 2 kids in tow. My hubby went after work around 5pm and was in and out in 5 mins.

All you needed is a picture ID I think. Anyway where I live that's all you need.
Couldn't you use your drivers license or ID?

I voted Sat-only had a 15 min wait and was in and out in like 5 min.

I'm not sure what the requirements are? I never got to vote and this would have been my first year, but many were telling me, I needed the registration card, especially being a first time voter? Not sure if this is true.

Sarah; no, I'm from Indiana. Not Indiana, PA, but the State of Indiana. :)

I didn't even get asked for ID or voter registraton card. My hubby's registration got messed up so he was even able to vote via provisional ballot.

I didn't get to vote this year either, because I didn't get my residency changed in time. I was supposed to go pick up my birth certificate myself after losing my other one in the move.

Some places you have to have a registration card to vote, other places don't require it. It varies from place to place, even in the same state sometimes.

You don't need a registration card to vote.
It all depends on your state. I would still go out & try to vote. Most likely you don't need that. Bring your ID & a bill with your address on it. If you are registered, you should be able to vote.

Well, the polls closed at 6 o'clock where I live. Looks like I will have to wait till the next election.

I totally agree with Oxnard. I know five people all able to vote and no reason not to who said they did not want to be bothered and they all belly ache how bad the government is. My family all tried to tell that that was stupid

Strangely enough I was only asked my name. I was prepared with several types of ID and was never asked for it.

I voted by mail this year as does most of WA state. However, I had NEVER been asked for my voter ID card in the years that I did vote at polling places.

As far as I know, you just need your I.D. to go vote.
But, of course, I could be wrong.
Maybe the next presidency, you can vote for.

I live in CA, and I don't even have a voter registration card. I never heard of such a thing. I voted absentee, but I took my neighbor in to vote, because she did not know where to go, and we noticed it was at the church on the corner, and so I took her in there. All that she had was her voting sample ballot.

In IL you do not need your ID or voters registration card.
