As you all probably know by now, Gracee has been removed from our care and the last few months, I have had a few complications with this pregnancy. First, it was my blood pressure being high which my doctor (OB/GYN) said it was due to the stress of her removal. They say they are working on reunification and have talked about unsupervised visits, but now are telling us, that we need more time in for this to happen. Its frustrating because as parents, we're doing everything in our power to comply and make sure, she be returned asap and safely to mommy and daddy.
So, last night, I was in the hospital AGAIN! I was having contractions, but within the past week or week and half (?), I have only dilated to a 1-2. The doctor (OB/GYN) last night was debating whether to take the child, due to my stress levels, having a lot of complications (heartburn constantly, not able to hold food down, contractions, etc). By my period or menstrual cycle, the child would have had a due date of Nov 23rd which would have put me at 37 weeks (the safe zone for delivery). Instead, the OB/GYN had a due date different from the hospital and Planned Parenthood; instead, his was from a previous ultrasound earlier in the pregnancy determining that I'm only 34 week range. The OB/GYN was concerned and ordered an ultrasound to be done last night at the hospital and the ultrasound tech lady stated the baby is only 4-5 lbs, estimately, and I am 35 weeks, 4 days. She also stated the baby is "Breech" or however you spell it. I still don't understand what this means?
Early this morning after monitoring, my OB/GYN came in the room and did an ultrasound himself and found out where the placenta was and told me "I don't think this child is most likely mature for delivery". He calculated 2700 grams (or something like that) and told me he is estimating the child to be approximately 5 lbs at this point. He told me in order to be safe about the matter that its not a must, but he would like to draw some amnio-fluid and find out from that, whether the child is mature enough for delivery, if and when, and so forth, then we would go about scheduling a C-section. He also told me that test would take 2-3 days for results. So, he asked me to schedule an appointment back in his office in two days.
He drawed fluid after numbing me in the area underneath my stomach on the left side. Has any other woman has this procedure done?
The nurse told me contractions and cramping is normal after this procedure, but I'm still worried that a needle might poke a hole in the sac, but the doctor told me its not going to harm the baby after I asked for reassurance about the matter. Don't get me wrong. I do trust my doctor and before any procedure was done, I asked whether or not he was doing the procedure and when he said yes, I let him proceed.
I'm just scared that since so far, I have felt grief and loss of my oldest child (even though, some technically would say its not a loss), I still have in the back of my mind; as a mother, worries that I may lose this child, whether it be to birth, any kind of testing or DCS involvement and more lies and allegations against me.
So, I guess my ultimate question would be..... Will the test for amnio-fluid hurt the baby, that needle going in me? I'm still scared and worried about that procedure that was done. I know he is trying to find the best interest for the child and wants me to hold off until he finds and compares his notes about delivery and what to do.
Thanks again everyone for your time and support.

You all have my prayers
And, a breech baby is one that is not positioned properly. The child's head should be near the vaginal opening. If it's not, then it's breech, or the feet, positioned toward the opening.
Breech pregnancies are very dangerous, and that baby needs to be turned at birth.
It can be done, rather easily these days. So, I wouldn't worry too much.
Anyhow, if you've got questions or anything, please ping me or e-mail me.....I'll be more than happy to help if I can......will keep you in my prayers!!
Your doctors know what they are doing, just sit tight.
Nora - The baby has also had the hiccups (vibrating against my skin, which one time made me think I was having contractions due to the vibration, I thought the baby was moving and ready). I know, kinda hilarious, but true. I could feel EVERYTHING with this pregnancy, possibly because she is Breech? Who knows? I never felt movement with my 1st child, but as for this one, I feel everything!
Misty- I also have the same problem. You see, I have contractions (not strong ones, mild ones), but with both pregnancies, very similar, I have had a problem dilating. I also seem to get dehydrated (VERY easy) and tend to have infections - mostly the normal ones along with pregnancy (UTI) or discharge excessively.
FIRST CHILD - I had to be induced, have medicine to "make me contract", also make me dilate, and also, my water WOULD not break, so I had to have all three things done; induced labor (make my contractions increase), make my body dilate, and not only that, have my water broke. My first child, I also had a "hole" in my sac, which the doctor considered dangerous, so he immediately sent me to the hospital to be induced for labor (36 weeks, 4 days, almost 37 weeks-the safe zone). My daughter was born early weighing 7 lb, 2 oz, 21 1/2 inches long. All testing came back as healthy and we we released in 2 days on a C-section. Keep in mind, I was walking on the first day AFTER the C-section and nurses were in shock, looking at me, telling me constantly to be careful. I healed within 2 weeks, my pregnancy bleeding began to stop within 3-4 weeks, sped up a bit and then completely stopped at the end of the month.
SECOND pregnancy --- Very similar.... My water HAS NOT broke, and I'm staying at a 1-2 dilation and PREVIOUSLY, never had any dilation, but now I'm staying at a steady average of a 2? ::Sighs::....
I'm afraid that this one may not turn because when I was in labor with my first, they did an instrument test to get my child's head to turn, but she kept being stubborn and refused after 6 hours of pushing, she wouldn't come out, so they had to do an emergency C-section.
Now, since this child is breech and both pregnancies are only about a year apart, I have already request a C-section and I also think this child may have complications and will refuse to turn and it can be dangerous.
Hopefully things work out safely. ;)
