I Don't Want You In My Life Anymore

Inspired by an article by Atlantis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I don't want you in my life anymore.
wild snarling hungry beast
at the doorstep just waiting to devour
tearing at the soul, the mind, the heart
rending life to bits
with your razor sharp claws
blocked from the one's loved
blocked from the one's needed
blocked from the one's desired
days upon days tired until exhaustion
stealing life like a thief in the night
pain in the days
terror in the night
forcing withdrawal from life
forcing withdrawal from love
forcing withdrawal from friendship
reaching always reaching
never finding
What is seeked?
Where is it?
A life filled
with longing.
Heart and soul screaming
over and over for
life and love
and freedom from the
darkness which inhabits
this world.
GO!
Get out of here!
Leave this place!
Do not darken my door.
I seek truth,
you are not truth,
you are a lie,
spun to deceive.
I don't want you in my life anymore.

Omigosh, whoever or whatever it is, if this is autobiographical, I wish you liberation from it. If it's not, I wish anyone issuing such an unequivocal, passionate plea to be free. And, anyone who has such a powerful voice has it within them to pursue fredom. It would be facile to say he or she could also obtain freedom; the condition of freedom is clearly sometimes beyond our control. Pursuing freedom is liberating in itself, however, and can be self-fulfilling. Good luck to the person in the poem.

Great work and fitting. Yesterday I just had to sever ties with my best friend that I have had since infanthood. It hurt so much but people change and some become poison.
