FAST & EASY 3 BEAN CHILI
2# hamburger, browned with one onion, cut in small dice
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
3 large cans whole tomatoes, cut in pieces, plus juice
1 can diced green chilies, mild or hot
1 can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
Brown hamburger with onion. I used a potato masher to break up the hamburger meat. It works really fast to get the job done! Add seasonings and 2 cups water and simmer for at least 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, cut up whole tomatoes and add to large pot or Dutch oven, along with juice. Add drained beans and diced green chilies.
Finally combine cooked hamburger with tomato-bean mixture. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer. The longer this cooks, the better it tastes.
To serve, top with shredded cheese and sour cream.
