Would it still be considered plagiarism if you gave credit to the book and or person who originally wrote the recipe?? I always try to cite a source of where I got my information from to give proper credit to whoever.

In most cases...no Diana. However, I would read the terms of use and if need be...ask permission of the writer first.

It's good that you posted this article. I am giving the person the benefit of the doubt. With two different names, she was just trying to protect the other person, which is admirable. There is so much stealing of material on the Internet, it's like the Wild West. Congrats on getting published so many places.

Colin...this person wasn't trying to be malicious. Her warning was stern, but only for my protection. So...I choose not to reveal any names.

I am glad to hear there are others out there ready to try and put a stop to plagerisum. That is a good thing. As someone who creates pixels and have been ripped off by copy right theft and more, I commend the person for trying to teach you.
It is kinda funny that it did turn out to be you. I am glad you could get a good laugh about it.

This is idiotic ... since when is a recipe protected by law?
A frigging recipe is not a novel, and it is not an invention, though
on occasion through the perversion of the patent process things
have been patented that really do not warrant a patent.
Seriously, what is the basis for complaining about a recipe?
Can someone enlighten me, and lighten up.

I used the word in plural form only and they are both spelled correctly. However, this post is not meant for people to get upset. I just wanted folks to know that my articles were mine. I thought it was a good point to make. It may help some folks. I'm not mad or upset about it and if a word is spelled incorrectly...I'm sorry. It happens. But I looked at the word that I used twice and they both were spelled correctly.

It's not being a tattle tale...it's taking an experience and helping others not repeat the same mistakes. Being a tattle tale would involve name bashing and ruining someone's reputation. You are entitled to your opinion...but it was actually a funny experience and it was fun to post about it. I guess the few that are getting upset are the only ones having a problem here. I would never bash or ruin someone's reputation. However, life has taught me to learn from things and if I can help others to do so in a fun manner. I hope you can understand this...

i'm waiting for someone to say something to me about my images, I had my account on mylot suspended a few times for image review because I was uploading better quality images when I got my DSLR so I understand, I am very cautious when I do any kind of cut and paste and make sure that I cite the author and the source that I get it from, sometims I can't find the author, but I at least cite the source.

Mooch...you were on myLot? I got my suspended to, but have no clue why? I asked several times along with others and they would never respond to me. They are very touchy over there. I signed up as another user and they seemed to let me be for now. I just wished I knew what I did wrong to offend them?

It's kinda nice to see someone standing up for your rights even if it's misdirected. There aren't many people willing to take the effort. She must really like your recipes.

I know a lady who buys bootleg movies. All I ever say to her is that's it's wrong and sending a bad message to her children.

What I don't understand is, how is sharing a recipe plagiarism? I am not sure I understand that. Once they are on the web anywhere, aren't they for all of us to share?
