Two of my fish died. :( I have a question. Can you help?

Bettas are fighting fish and best off when kept alone. I think Neon Tetrras are so pretty when you have a medium to large school of them

No, not really if you want it to be happy.

More tetras. We have Neons and Head and Tail Lights.

VERY touchy fish. They have attitudes and will nip at most other brightly colored fish. Generally not recommended for aquariums because some bettas might be okay while others will charge at the same fish.

We have two fish tanks, Hey just have one tetra left, three angel fish three zebra, bunch of guppies, no baby guppies in this tank. Angel fish get them before they can get big. There is one catfish. Some wandering snails, They must have been in the water when my daughter gave us the Zebra fish when she moved. The really cleaned up this thank, no alge at all in it. Don't know where you can buy them, been looking for them, can't find them any where. Shaped like the end of a pencile don't get very big. rarely see them. I guess they go under ground during the day. I guess tetra's go will with everything. If you want baby fish in your tank that would be all I would have it. Angel and tetra's eat the babies. The other tank has one cat fish and a red tailed shark and loads of guppies. When I need more guppies that is where I get them for the other thank. I put some wandering snails it that tank now too. Have to move the gravel around a little to find some in the one tank to put in the other one. They are getting it cleaner now.

Bettas generally do not get along well with other brightly colored fish. Some do, however, but it's kind of a gamble. They are fin nippers as well.

Yes, I seem to have gotten good advise Helen. No bettas for me. It's a small tank. So, I cannot have too many fish in it.

Bettas can get along with some fish, but not all other species. And not only can there be problems with the bettas attacking the other fish, but other fish can do some damage to the fins of a betta, as well. Bettas may be fighters, but they're pretty delicate, as well. (I've had many over the years.)

(Also, because it bugs me-- don't believe what the signs at pet stores say about it being ok to keep bettas in tiny containers. Those teeny cups and small "betta bowls" are actually horrible environments to keep a betta in. They come from rice patties, which are a heck of a lot bigger than those bowls!)

My goldfish, Billy, which I had had for a whole year, died recently, too! I wonder if it was because he was lonely.

Alta is right sis, a betta would kill the fish you have now. That is why you always see them alone.

You can go with a guppy or a neon.
