My 11 yr. old likes to dress her poor Maggie dog up in outfits. Most of what Angela picks out are NOT dog clothes, but children's or Build-a-bear clothes.
You see, Maggie is a rescue dog. We've had her about a year and a half now, and whomever had her before us just tortured her. Maggie was severely beaten and dragged by a car. She has scars all down her leg, and you may be able to see the scars in some of the photos. She's a beagle, but doesn't act much like one. She doesn't bark or howl.
First Angela had Maggie outside in her skunk Halloween costume.

Maggie didn't really care for the gian blow-ups that were in our yard. I think the giant Tigger made her nervous.
Angela then put the dragon costume on Maggie....it doesn't stay on her well though.

Next Maggie was taken back inside for more photos.

Maggie is on "her" chair.

Angela then got this great idea to dress Maggie as a pirate...

Angela felt that the photos had to be taken in both color and black and white. To get the FULL effect, you have to see the shot with her eye patch and earring...it's in the Halloween contest.

I do think Maggie was slightly embarassed by all the attention.

This Superman thing was WAY too big for Maggie, but it cracked both Angela and me up.

Maggie then had to do her Phyllis R. immitation....the other glasses were more like Phyllis's, but Maggie seemed to like these better.

Here you can see Maggie being her "cool" self....along with the skull scarf....and the scarred up leg. The scars are rather big, but they do look better than they did a year ago.

Angela made sure Maggie knew that Angela would actually wear the stuff too.
Today Angela and Maggie were at it again. They started on our deck....

I took a few of Angela too....I don't think it made Maggie feel any better though. LOL

Angela is getting Maggie ready...I was alternating between color and b/w.

Angela wanted to make sure that Maggie had her best side shown. LOL
Maggie had to have the whole "look"....and one of these shots is in the photo contest also.

Then Angela had to make sure that Maggie had a Toga on....as a tribute to the neighbor's Toga party on Halloween (I haven't posted those photos yet).

Angela had to be my little Ham...

I wondered what she'd look like with short hair...and thank goodness I don't think she'll ever dye it pink.

These are just a few of the 130 or so shots Angela and I took....

I have never been able to understand how anyone could be so cruel to animals. I honestly belive that anyone who is cruel to animals would not feel uncomfortable doing the same things to people.
Angela looks like she knows how to have fun, and enjoy herself. I love that about her! Raegan mopes around the house half the time. ;)
I love the pictures, -- there is no way I could ever pick a fav for all are darling. I really love the one of Maggie looking embarrassed, that is just too cute. I am so thankful to God that your family was the family to get Maggie.............this was certainly a blessing. The love that you all have for her hopefully lets her forget the horrible life she had with those ***** that abused her. Oh yeah, I love the b/w of her with the shades on her head....she certainly is a star. Angela is a darling Jax, -- she is absolutely beautiful. Tell her God has a special star for her for all the love and attention she gives Maggie. God created the animals too and He wants us to love them and treat them with respect! God certainly allowed Maggie to get to the 'right' family!!!!!!!

We also have a rescue dog named Jessie and she is the most wonderful dog we have ever had. So patient and loyal.
Haven't dressed her in any costumes yet, LOL!
I smiled from beginning to end and loved
every single photo.
:-)
You've not only got a beautiful daughter, (like you, inside and out), but I'd be willing to say that Maggie was liking the attention - it's still love. You can see it in her eyes. Our first beagle when I was a kid was named Maggie too, though that one wasn't abused. Since then, we've had many, many abused fur-family members and they do respond to love - which Maggie is obviously getting with all of you! I'm so glad you've got her.

10!
Cute photo essay !
Poor Maggie. I cannot believe people would do that to a dog. People who abuse animals (or people too for that matter) sicken me. I think Maggie has a great home now!
Angela is so cool!
I am really glad you won the Maggie photo award. :)
You're a winner of zoomit's Halloween costume contest. Thanks for participating.
I really loved the wig. It looked good on Maggie!
