Yes, I actually did it. Even though I have never written anything longer than 3,800 words up until now, I have taken the plunge. It started today and I logged 2,513 words. The ultimate goal is 50,000 in 30 days, which is roughly 1667 a day if you use all 30 days. I plan to finish early, if possible. I have set aside mornings while the kids are in school to do my writing. Still, a lot of things are going to go by the wayside: laundry, dishes, email, Gather. But, at the end of November, if I've stuck to it, it will all be worth it because I'll have a working draft of my very first novel. Thank goodness I've been adopted by a NaNoWriMo veteran to hold my hand through this whole process. I wouldn't have made it this far without her.
Here's my progress widget which should update when I add new words and also my cover art. Hopefully, with everyone watching, I won't be tempted to wimp out. :D. Wish me luck!

Good luck Tracey. We will have to keep track of each others progress. ;o)
Wanda, Rene, Sammie - let's really shine, shall we?
Blessings dear friend~
Congrats and good luck to you too Lisa.
Thank you so much Spiritguided Woman(^_^) for all of your well wishes. I'll tell you right now I feel like I've been hit by a bus. You'll know why if my counter ever updates.
"3) We survived the highest traffic day in the history of NaNoWriMo
today. The one-day spike that happens every November 1st is a little
terrifying for our servers, but they weathered it, and we're so proud
of them. We're sorry for the timing out errors you might have
experienced. Everything will be less overloaded tomorrow, and then
reasonably smooth by Monday evening."
Hang in there... almost smooth sailing on the NaNo servers!
They are finished, but, just need editing. Of course, I'd have to find the time first. I have two kids, both in Elementary. One only goes to school for two and a half hours and the other one stays in until 3:30.
In between, I have many chores to do, and money worries to think about.
Maybe next year, huh?
Sigh.
Thanks Heather!
Thanks Peter, I already am!
