| The John McCain campaign once again emulated the George W. Bush administration, this time by perpetrating a hoax on the American people called “Joe the Plumber." Samuel Joseph (aka, Joe the plumber) Wurzelbacher was outed by the Toledo Blade newspaper as an individual who, in Springfield Ohio Township, is both unlicensed to be a plumber and has never even served apprenticeship training to be a plumber. The real clincher is that divorce court records list his 2006 income as $40,000, hardly the $250,000 floor qualification for being tax eligible under the proposed Barack Obama tax cut plan. John McCain began to make “Joe, not Really a Plumber” the centerpiece of his demonstrably vacuous campaign rhetoric by falsely heralding the tragedy of a man who would be taxed as a member of the $250,000-plus bracket and thusly denied his shot at the American Dream. ”I'm not George Bush,” McCain exhorted during the third debate.
