How to make that dog be GONE!

I moved out into the country, but now everytime I go outside I step in dog poo.  Any idea's on how to keep the dogs out of my yard?  Aside from calling the dog pound!

That's disgusting. My dog is not allowed out of his territory. He is never outside if we aren't out with him. And he knows the rules. It makes me mad when people let them run all over the neighborhood. And stray cats really drive me nuts. One of my neighbors feeds them.

We have that problem with people that walk their dogs and don't clean it up....drives me nuts, because our dog only goes down in the woods....and the piles happen to be around the mailbox.

There are sprays that you can use, but I don't think they are very effectual.

I would tactfully tell the owners..... I know... You don't want to P' off the neighbors but people should watch out for their animals. Thank God it's not cow poop! The you would have a bigger problem!

Pick it up , put it in a paper bag.Take it back to where it came from.Light the bag on fire ,place on porch, run ,hide ,laugh really loud when they try and stomp the fire out. Repeat if necessary.

I heard to sprinkle black pepper or put cayenne pepper around your yard perimeter, but that doesn't work. I have also heard that you put two liter bottles upside down in your yard also. I haven't tried that. We get the neighbors dog poop all of the time too and it drives me nuts. We have no laws here.

my mom used to put tabasco sauce around the perimeter of her garden to keep all animals out of it.. .maybe if you put it around your yard?

That's frustrating. Are you allowed to put up a fence? We have hedges around our yard and that works pretty well, except for cats. Cats are more sensitive to smells and the products sold to chase away cats do work. I think they stink, too, though. :) Comment #14

I have cats poopin in my mulch I use a water gun, i squirt them when i see them in my yard. Doesn't hurt them but they get the message.

I also fling the poop back in the owners yard if you know where they are from. if they say anything be like "you left this in my yard, just returning it thought you might miss it."

You can get some powder or spray that is made for the outside (make sure it says that) and try putting it down within a certain radius of your back door/front door. It would get too expensive to put it thru the whole yard, I think. It works on some animals and not on all. If they're literally pooping right by your doors, it's worth a try. (Find these at petdege.com, dog.com, drsfostersmith.com) If it's just all thru your yard and you like to spend a lot of time out there, then the best solution is to get some kind of fence up asap. Even a very inexpensive fence would be likely to work. I doubt that they neighbors will be open to discussion, but its possible that you could speak to them in a friendly way, assuming that they don't realize their dog is going all over your yard....
