I have never held your hand
But you've stolen my heart
I've never looked into your eyes
But I am burning from your spark
I long to taste your sweet lips
As I have sipped from your soul
The words you have written
Have devoured me whole
Even from a great distance
I crave many things
Your words wrap my brain
And make my heart sing
Why do I feel this connection
Through words on a wire
That heightens my senses
And sets them on fire!
I have tried to forget you
And move past these silly dreams
Things without substance
That cause tears to stream.
You have been only you
Only I am to blame
So why do I keep dreaming
And hearing your name?

As someone who met her husband thru online dating site called lavalife.com, I truly can relate because I read his few emails to me, I knew I had to meet him. We decided not to prolong matters and correspond thru emails or telephone calls and met within ten days of our first contact online. I sent him a smile and haven't stopped smiling in the six years we've been together.
Enough of my love story...
You capture the agony and joy of connecting with someone online so well. Your words are few but very profound. I continually get amazed how powerful a heartfelt poem can be as a talented poet like you knows the importance of keeping it simple but thought-provoking.
Nicely done!

when not a hint has been let
the sort of powerful shove
of ways we sometimes forget.
I find that one can speak
of feelings they used to know
then trip on words by another
which sets passion on the flow.
Real good stuff, Lisa.
Thank you Spencer.
it is so from the heart............
