Autumn. For some, is all about the smells and tastes of the last harvest before winter. Pumpkins baked into pies, apples picked at their peak and pressed into cider, and then paired with little powdered-sugar donuts.
For many, leaves changing from lush greens to dramatic browns and ambers epitomize the season and prompt sunset walks bundled in a favorite cabled cardigan. Crisp, cool air signals the beginning of the holiday season for others, including those who may have started making Christmas gifts for their loved ones as early as September or August.
Still others are delighted that yarn-crafting season is upon us and will spend evenings knitting or crocheting; now that darkness comes earlier and the nip in the air hinders outside play. And still others love to curl up by a roaring crackling fire and read till there heart is content.
