San Antonio, Texas...

One of the oldest colonial cities in North America, and is considered the "melting pot" of many cultures, San Antonio is a city of romance.  As one of the first Spanish settlements founded in the New World and is now considered as the eighth largest metropolitan region in the United States, San Antonio has long been a destination points for many travelers, both far and wide.

With hundreds of restaurants, San Antonio and the surrounding communities offers an incredible range of cuisines, representing various cultures from around the world. Although San Antonio is best known as the "Queen Mother" of Tex Mex cuisine, they also boasts an array of top chefs in the country.

San Antonio's top attraction is the Alamo; the foremost shrine to Texas' liberty and independence.  While you're driving downtown, try to visit the Hemisfair Park, Sunset Station, El Mercado, La Villita, and the Riverwalk.  The Riverwalk stretches up and down the banks of the San Antonio River.  The romance of the walk can prove to be quite intoxicating!

A good place to start would be at the Alamo.  You can tour the missions that were built in the early Spanish colonial era, showcasing the architecture of the time.  Tour the historic King William District.  You will marvel at the architecture of these old homes, which were built in the glory of Edwardian and Victoria ages.

If you travel down the 410 loop, you will come to Lackland Air Force Base.  San Antonio is home to a number of military bases; both Army and Air Force.  If you continued west, you will come to an exit for SeaWorld.  Continuing a little father northwest to IH 10W, you can follow this path to Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

If you have an appreciation for the performing arts, San Antonio metro offers a wide variety of venues for theater, opera, and symphony as well as live music from conjunto, to country, to rock, to hip hop, to jazz, to swing.  It's all here in San Antonio!

If you are a golf fan, municipal and other public courses abound, with varying degrees of difficulty for both neophyte and experienced players alike.

Throw in a few games with the Spurs, Silver Stars, Missions and the Rampage and you'll be guaranteed to have a great trip!
