Fox News - McCain - Matt Drudge: A threesome American does not want to watch.

McCain is clearly desperate and is looking for anything to get his campagin back on track. I was listening to Sean hannity on the radio and he was freaking out at the possibility of a McCain loss.

Fox News is truly the worst out there. These guys are hate mongers. Hurt them where it matters. Don't buy products from their sponsors. Here are a few of them:

I care for some people who have Faux News on multiple hours a day. It is easy to see how they think McCain/Palin is the next closest thing to heaven.

You could be right depending on where you put that majority cutoff. Bottom line 5 million is a lot of people when we are talking about voters.

Jerry, he is not that far ahead.

I don't understand how people can form a true opinion without reading and listening to both sides. I read everything from Mother Jones to the National Review and so far I haven't caught cooties from either side.

This is just my little tidbit but a closed mind is a terrible thing to lose because you won't even know it.

Oh, btw, I don't watch any network or cable news, they're ALL biased one way or the other.

Absolutely Franseca. The point here is not to tell people watch Network X vs. Network Y. For it not for watching FOX myself, I would never know how ridiculous they can get. When I watch Keith Olbermann, I spend 70% of the time laughing. It's comedy to me. Not that far from the Daily Show.

Americans like to get their news through the prism of of people who hold similar views. They (we) don't want to be challenged. That is dangerous.

Nonetheless, what FOX is doing is jumping the gun in promoting their bias.

Don't watch Fox and now don't have any reason to.

Wrong. He is a news aggregator, and it is worth noting that he is a power house in the industry -- most journalists go to his page to see what's going on.

I'm not proud to admit this, but Drudge is the primary source of many conservative talk radio hosts. Boortz in particular uses it almost exclusively... and he goes into his bits and acts like it's news to the listeners who already go to Drudge.

C-Span is the best source for politics. Original, uninterupted, fair....

There is a lot of truth (not 100%) to the Fox/Talk Radio/Drudge connection.

And to be clear.... Rush Limbaugh is the exception... because he is exceptional. Don't matter if you disagree with him --- he is simply brilliant.

HE is a news aggregator compiling what he wants to promote.

Andy Sullivan is a news aggregator/blogger. Want to defend Sullivan as well?

Rush Brilliant? LOL. He knows his audience. If that's brilliance, he sure is.

Thanks for the list of places to shop! Why would I care who supports Fox News, I don't watch them anymore than I watch any other news (or read any blogs or listen to any talk radio)? Good post though Jared as it points out that not all news is worth listening to. Also, it doesn't really matter whether you are liberal, conservative, moderate, etc. you should be able to watch, listen, read any news with a critical eye and mind. This way you can weed out the useless garbage.

I watch Faux Noise/Limpaugh/savage once in awhile so I can debunk my repub co-workers who think it's the word of God.
Silly guys, I slaughter them with the truth.

The report hit the news on the "B" girl so fast. Then they were wrong.

Rush Limbaugh, if given the chance without feeling like you might get cooties, is brilliant if listened to. So is Al Franken and Michael Moore. Rush will probably be off the air, governmentally mandated within a year or so if Obama is elected and I'm sure many will be pleased. I'm not. As a firm Constitutionalist bar none, no one should be governmentally quieted. It's our First Amendment.

I'm not a grassy knoll kind of gal but this is already in the works to put an end to conservative talk radio, Air America tried to compete, didn't, so now we have to hush it up permanently. Thank you Nancy Pelosi, this worked well for Hitler too.

We should just shut everyone up who doesn't agree, because we're lemmings.

I lean liberal by the way. This is scary and frightening that anyone could feel threatened by opposing viewpoints and the freedom of thought and the Freedom of Speech.

who is talking about shutting people up? We are talking about responsible reporting. Investigative reporting. Investigate, then report. These news outlets are sitting on their butts and reporting from bloggers. That's the issue here, not to shut people up.

The right has this habit of diverting the subject to something else that everyone agrees on and make it sound like the other side disagrees on. Nobody is after freedom of speech.

My beef over the whole thing is that conservative talk radio DOES have competition -- NPR which is clearly left-leaning bias and is funded by both the left and the right through tax dollars. I listen and I also donate even more funds because I love classical music and I do listen to all viewpoints. When was the last time Rush or Ingraham got federally funded dollars? It's not to say that I agree with these people but I listen to them also. If you look at this situation logically and objectively it clearly shows how frightened people can be when something is aired that you don't agree with. Isn't our freedom of thought and expression the reason our country was founded? We are truly living in scary times if the First Amendment becomes eroded and meaningless because people no longer care to hear what they don't agree with.

As far as irresonsible reporting goes, look no further than the NY Times. Everyone is guilty on both sides. As far as bloggers go? Huffington is just as bad as Drudge. But if you begin siding with one or the other everything is lost and everyone loses.
