Some have called it Idolatry,
The hope we feel.
One of us will use our voice,
To take our country
Back for us.
These long years,
Of rape and hate.
Devouring our country,
No more.
We no longer tolerate,
We will enfold.
Seeking to steward
This land of beauty.
Once again to be
The beacon of hope
In the world.
We shine.
And this is how I feel, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVw0Mb8XR9M

Thank you for posting to this group whose only purpose is to thank you for posting to this group.
Susan, soon, very soon.
Dame who knows, maybe they're getting ready for Halloween.
That's my boy. Last summer was my big brouhaha with the hometown.
Jim - I've been doing it and I'll be giving rides if my health allows.
I was explaining how most of us feel about the election to the numb heads.
But, I've also got my theme song going on there.
Roy - absolutely spot on.
Keep on working Katherine, we fight the good fight.
the BACON of hope.
CC - Honey you do. No one said beacon so I don't know where you got your bacon.
Sharon: If Ohio let's us down again, you're the ONE person I may spare when I come down there with my Big Boy Boots on! [wink]
The beacon of hope
In the world.
We shine.
Sharon, that's where i got the bacon from. in your poem.
great, now i'm hungry and craving bacon.
92% in the Netherlands to the lowest 52% in Russia, people all over would vote for Obama if they could.
I cast my ballot last week. I had my husband take a picture of it going into the mailbox. I want to remember this one.
What a great night Tuesday will be.
"And I'm feelin good".
I remember feeling this hopeful, three other time. John Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy. Hopefully we can keep this man and let him lead the work.
I still think "Yosemite Sam" suits McCain...
Not that I feel terribly strong about either of them...just that I found it funny that his signs have been disappearing around here ever since Palin was in town....coincidence? *shrugs*
Jules thank you, you always make me feel so good.
Nippy you are wise beyond your hopping range.
Lance the proof will also be in our work to get er done.
Google - you stole them I just know it.
Today is my uncles birthday, I guess that makes him a scorpio too? Actually, he's a drunk at the bowling alley right now. oh well.
This is for CC......I am making bacon, eggs and biscuits for dinner. I'll stick some bacon in an envelope for ya and send it your way. It should be okay since we're having a cold front.
As for the missing signs.......go look in the trunk....I bet they are there!! We were coming home this afternoon and noticed a McCain sign stuck in the ground on an empty lot. The funny part is, the lot is being auctioned off on the 4th. I am not kidding! So, it looks like, as you are driving down the road that McCain is being auctioned off on the 4th.
We've got hope but we've also got work to do!
Ok, anyway, one of the things I love about the Obama supporters is the hope they have, whereas it seems others are driven by fear (insert various fears). I'm going with hope.
MJ - Oh we've had a president, but not to lead us, destroy us. This will be a new day.
Robyn aren't we marvelous?
Lisa - Glad you enjoyed.
I feel exactly like you do, the last time I was this hopeful was in the era of JFK, MLK and RFK.
And you're BIRTHDAY is Electin Day??? how awesome is that! I hope ALL your birthday wishes come true!
Patty - My birthday is on Thursday the 6th. I'll be dancin for my maximum 30 secs. for both.
The part spoke loudest to me? "We no longer tolerate, / We will enfold. / Seeking to steward / This land of beauty." This resonates with me because it hints of the work that has to be done AFTER the election. The work WE can help with. The "us" of the U.S.
I'll take that Bacon of Hope, because that is EGG-zackly what we need.
I get to go vote early tomorrow (I hope) because I'm working the polls on Tuesday.
They said the hours would probably run from 5:30 am to 11 pm. That's a long day, even for me! We're canvassing Saturday and Sunday all day.
I'm taking a personal day on Wednesday, hoping I will be able to walk by Thursday.
Blessed be, Birthday Girl!
Wilka
Thanks Wilka - Hope CC got her bacon.
Thanks Julia.

Thought you'd like that my brother.
Carol, if you assign normal motivation to those that have held power the past eight years, and their followers, you will never understand this problem. They don't want this country to thrive, they only want the elite in it to. Our goals are forever going to be at odds, and compromise is merely weakness in their eyes, which they look on with disgust. Opposition to their agenda, and the passing of a progressive one is the only way we will ever straighten this country out. These are not your father's conservatives, and never will be again. Sharon, happy Birthday from one Scorpio to another, and I cast my vote for Obama early, just last week. Yes, we most certainly can.
Ron - Thank you. Happy birthday to you my dear friend. It's a new day.
Though he did know how to vote as well, ;~D
