Back in July, I decided to hold off on Cashing out until Halloween, so I could have as many gift cards as I could FOR Christmas shopping. Then, along came the fantastic Summerpics promo, and I was able to get a LOT of extra points.
Since then, I've been doing fairly well in point earnings, too! At the start of October, I broke down and cashed out for $100 to paypal for 2 reasons- 1 so that I could test how fast it would arrive, and 2 so I could trigger the tax forms (I had $475 cashed out when I did the $100, bumping it to $575, and giving me the info for the tax forms).
Well, today, I hit 23,605 points, and I decided that was enough, I was tired of waiting, so I cashed out.
I just cashed in for $350 to go to Paypal, and $25 to come in the form of a Target gift card. I opted for paypal, because I can shift it to my bank account, and use it to shop for Christmas gifts anywhere I want to on Black Friday.
The $25 card is going to be a Christmas gift for Gillian. I ordered a $25 Gamestop card this morning from MyPoints for Chris, and last week, we got a $25 Gamestop card in the mail from a gaming rewards site Nick uses. Each of the kids will get a $25 gift card. I used to do $10 cards to book stores, but Borders is too far away (there used to be a Waldenbooks in a nearby mall, but the store closed last Spring).
Since I didn't have enough points for 3 $10 cards at MyPoints, and Gather doesn't have a $10 card to Target, and we already had 1 $25 card on the way, we opted to go this way with them. :)
I'm excited and can't wait to start shopping on BF!

Dont think I am doing black friday, rarely ever do because the crowds are so bad and people leave their manners at home.
CONGRATS!!!!!
I am hoping to make atleast another $100 in time to cash out for Christmas. We could really use the money for Christmas shopping this year, since I sah and he is going to grad school and working for the school but our income is very small right now. We are making ends meet and being very cautious with our spendings so any extra earnings I make online help out A LOT!!
I don't mind shopping, but I preferred it in the quiet little town I used to live in. It had all the bigger department stores (Target, Kmart, Walmart, Meijer), plus some other good stores (Old Navy, JC Penneys, Walgreens, Rite-Aid) for doing BF shopping, but no where near the crowds they have in many big cities.
Last year, we lived in Lansing, and it was much more crowded, but people were still pretty friendly. This year, I'm half tempted to go up north to the old town and shop there. ;)
Another BF tip- a LOT more stores are accepting online BF sales, so that might be what I do. You still have to be up and around early, but no crowds, and no going out in the cold. ;)
