I know many here are having trouble making ends meet. Since the Holidays are almost here, extra money is tight for many.
I heard about this program from a friend at work (who used it).
I thought I'd sahre this here, as someome here at Gather may need this.
***There is a Thanksgiving menu listed. ***

I think it's great!
The basic package is almost always a good deal. You may want to start out trying one of these the first month. I know many families who get two of these a month. The bonus boxes in my experience haven't been as a good as value but it's up to your personal taste.
The best thing to remember is that everyone qualifies. No one should feel guilty about applying. The non-profits (usually churches) that host the programs actually make a small profit through the handling charge, so everyone benefits.
Great article, Elaine. may you sleep well tonight knowing you've helped your fellow gather members!

We also do the shoe boxes, we do one for boy & one for a girl. I hope we can do it this year also.
For those who need this..I am grateful there is a program like this for those in need. This enables people to have decent meals & not go without food.
If this was around five years ago when my husband was in school I would have tried it.
I am not so sure I would do this now, as I do not want to take away from someone who would need this more than I do.
I feel blessed that I have all I need. My pantry is stocked and I have food to last me for four weeks, well except produce, milk & eggs.
I am a coupon & sale shopper I buy certain items at Publix, certain ones at Whole Foods & certain ones at Walmart.
My savings at Publix Sunday was 46.00 my bill was after coupons 70.00.Which is good considering what I pruchased, produce milk & eggs were a big portion of that along with 2 deli subs. But I got great deals for the rest;-)
I will check out the site , Thanks
