For our anniversary, my wife and I spent a night at the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse Inn Bed and Breakfast. Point Cabrillo is located a short ways North of Mendocino on Highway 1 in California. The Inn is located in the restored Head Light Keeper's house built in 1909. The main house has four bedrooms while two out building have been converted into guest cottages.
We stayed in the Lighthouse room which has a wonderful view of the lighthouse. Blackout shades are provided but we found that the light did not bother us. The room has its own bathroom complete with a shower.

se has been restored right down to the faux subway tiles in the bathrooms and stairway.
There is a sunroom on the south side of the building that has a wonderful view of the ocean and light house.
In the dining room they serve hors de oeuvres with wine in the evening and a gourmet breakfast in the m
orning.
The sitting room is a wonderful place to sit and unwind after a day of exploring the Lighthouse and the nearby town of Mendocino.
I would highly recommend a getaway to the Lighthouse Inn. The proceeds from you stay help to preserve the lighthouse and you can relax in the wonderful accommodations. My only regret is that we did not stay for two nights.

Several years ago, I visited Mendocino for the first time and just loved it there. I saw a small law office downtown that looked out over the ocean and told my daughter she should set up a practice THERE! We also commented on cows grazing in pastures overlooking the ocean! They have a priceless view!
