I just found out one of my posts was flagged because it is considered spam by someone. Afterwards, I went to the Guidelines to see what was appropriate on here and one of the points said that we are to represent ourselves honestly. That's what I did. I told people of the situation I was going through and asked them to visit my posts.
I've seen similar postings on here without flags so I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. And, I had planned to contact Gather to find out if I had done something wrong but can no longer find a "Contact Us" link so I have no idea how to contact Gather to inquire about this.
The thing that concerns me most is that no one is forcing anyone to do anything. If you don't want to help, fine don't. But why are some people on here so pathetic that they attempt to hurt someone else?
Maybe what I did was spam but I didn't think so at the time. I only sent it to general groups that are supposed to be open to everyone. Since there are specific groups on here that are for the specific purpose of increasing points, I didn't think telling my story and asking people to read my posts was out of line.
The funny thing about it is that I discovered that I would need almost 1,000 points to get what I need anyway so it's actually not going to likely happen in the timing I need it. I wasn't asking anyone for money or to buy anything. All I asked them to do was read my posts. I still don't think there was anything wrong in that. I would have helped anyone else who asked this of people on here.
I tend to think that whomever complained, it was likely the same someone who has been going to all of my posts and giving me low ratings. I find that behavior a lot more despicable because it's cowardly and vindictive. Either way, what you sow, you will reap and I will go on.

If they do determine it to be spam, they will just ask you to remove it and you can move on.
Some people just have too much free time on their hands. Good luck
While I don't work for Gather, I can offer you my personal opinion regarding your post.
I noted that your article (post): To All You Compassionate, Sweet People Out There On Gather... has been reported for spam. Hence, I'm assuming that it is this post you are referring to.
It is a violation of site policy to solicit members for points. You can ask members to visit your content to check out your recent post or photo, as long as you don't mention Gather Points in the process.
Therefore, posts containing statements like this: "I'm trying to rack up as many Gather points as I can so I can cash in at least $25 to pay the bill until I get my money back. If any of you would be so kind to go to my various posts just to help me, I'd be grateful." can be legitimately reported.
I hope that helps, and if you have any questions please let me know!
