My wife won a trip to Aruba with 5 other women from work, and she just got back this week. They got to go to a 5 day, all inclusive resort. Not too shabby. Only downfall was that I was not able to go - big bummer. Anyway, she said she had a good time, but not the best ever. She gets lonely when I am not around, and things in life are just more enjoyable when we get to share them together.
They left early Friday morning from the airport and got there Friday evening. Everyone arrived safely with all of their luggage - Baggallini, Mcklein and others. Apparenlty, Aruba doesn't manufacture anything on the island, so any shopping they did was like they were in the States only more expensive. Everything was imported.
One crazy story was that they took a jeep excursion of the island. They had everyone sign liability waivers, but the crazy thing was that they had you drive the jeep, minus the one leading tour guide. At one point, they were going up an incredibly steep cliff when the jeep in front of them stopped. They stalled out and started going backwards. The lady in the back's seatbelt came off, a door opened up, and she grabbed her purse before it plummeted over the cliff. The only casualty was some Dermablend makeup falling down the ravine. Wow. Don't think I'll ever let my wife go on a trip like this alone again. I have to be there to protect here.
She's back safe and home now. I went and met her at the airport with some flowers at midnight when she got it. It was a surprise, which paid off nice dividends to me :).
