CVS Black Friday Rumors

Oh, the anticipation is just killing me!

I'm sure many of you have heard about the CVS Black Friday rumors for this year. The supposed deals is that many appliances will be free after CVS bucks. These include:

a waffle iron
a grill
a crock pot
a toaster oven (I think, it's hard to remember)
a mini sewing machine

Maybe a few others even. I have a friend that works at CVS and she doesn't see this happening simply because of the volume. She said CVS' policy is to go after the shoppers' second wind on BF. They figure shoppers will first go to the big boxes like Wal Mart and Target. CVS may be an after-breakfast staff. She says this has been the approach for years and is carried out in staffing, et al. (For example, most people come in at 9 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. to work.)

She won't tell me if she's seen the plans or what will be on sale. She says, though, you can expect a few gift items (like a good Essence of Beauty deal and maybe a free fragrance), some great deals on candy and wrapping paper, and great deals on health and beauty aids. You can walk out with some free razors, body wash, maybe some painkillers.

Any thoughts on this? Any of you got friends or relatives inside CVS that will talk?

I know nothing about those CVS things...

It would be nice if someone could explain them.
I have never shopped there on BF because until now, there was never one near by.

I've never shopped there on Black Friday either. I'm not sure why we didn't last year. Maybe we weren't interested in the deals? I honestly don't remember. Or last year might have been the year that my husband had to work so we didn't go out at all.

CVS can't keep their sale items in stock, I can't see them being able to do anything like this. I don't shop on BF.

I've never gone to CVS on Black Friday either, I don't know why since I shop there regularly. I guess I get to caught up in the great deals other retailers are offering.

It's easy to forget things when your trying to get a brand new car for 25cents I guess...

I'm looking forward to BF this year. I've got my armor and morning star gleaming and ready. :)

When you say Black Friday, do you mean the Friday after Thanksgiving? I'm not even sure we have CVS here. I've never been to one. Maybe there is out east. Don't know. Wish I knew more about what you are talking about.

There is a website that gets a hold of the BF ads way in advance every year. You can sign up for their newsletter and they'll notify you when the get them. I've been using them for the past 2 years and they really are the legit ads. Check it out.

My sister wants to get an HDTV this year, so I am sure to be out in front of Best Buy in the freezing cold at 4:00 am on Black Friday.

Sounds too good to be true. Last year we didn't see anything worth fighting the crowds for. WalMart is usually our main stop.

Amanda, after those great Rite Aid deals you told me about a couple weeks back, I will definitely keep my ears open for the CVS BF deals. I usually end up finding out ahead of time through online sites. I'll put my sister on task too--she's good at finding out info.

Oooh, a popcorn maker- this is something I've been wanting for a while. I'd probably pick up each of the items, and use them as Christmas gifts, except the popcorn maker.

Oh, I have been wanting a rice cooker!!!! The rest would make great gifts as well.

I don't usually shop on BF. Art has to work and I just don't do crowds well. I know that he is thinking of getting his daughter a laptop this year. He can go camp out at best buy by himself!

I honestly have not been shopping on black Friday in years. My anxiety doesn't do well with lots of people. That would be something to see what kind of deals that they have. I will have to keep an eye out.

Gwen, from what my cousin says, it's not so bad at CVS. And the deals last all day so there's no smashing crowd. From what DN__Buster said, there might be a crowd this year. This will just make for the best Christmas. My whole family is broke, so we're limiting (and challenging) each other to $10 gifts this year. With the waffle grill for my brother and sister-in-law, I can add some waffle mix and fancy syrup!

Yeah, I agree Christine. Dn Busters saved my cousin from the waterboarding technique. I would have done it early, Chris, but it does take a long time to hook up the machine.
