Parody to Blueberry Hill

Last night, while brushing my teeth I had the news on and someone said something in a cadence and the words had something to do with Capitol Hill. This song immediately started in my mind and this is a first draft at least.

Inspired by Rick L's wonderful parodies on Trivia 4 points.

I found my thrill, on Capitol Hill

Health care is the will

Of the people, but still...

I get my pay

To smile all day

When I no longer have a say

I'll still get my pay.

My wife is insured to live just on my words

My pension for life is hers, as free as a the birds.

The bills I vote on

With incentives by corps.

The Lobbyists pay me

So they can sell more

I found my thrill

On Capitol Hill

I'll linger until

I'm impeached by you.

I guess you agree that we need to shrink those legislative golden parachutes? I think so, too. Our representatives don't represent us, but get to live like kings on our tax dollars.

Thank you for the compliment, but I'm old and I do remember it and I met Fats Domino one time years and years ago in a club in Pensacola Florida during his early years. My husband was in flight school in the Navy stationed in Pensacola at that time. That was before kids came along and we could have a night out once in a while. All the young men were wearing their dress uniforms and really looked sharp and Fats came over to our table and shook our hands. Memories.....

Love your poetry/song, myself. I won't comment on political ideals here, anymore, because I came to share my love of this great Earth and my photos. I'm no environmentalist, but I do know there's a place in everything.... everything... where we all have to stop, look around and do things right.

That's so far out. I could even hear, was it Fat Dominoes? throatily belt it out...

So many things get inspired when one is in the bathroom...

I guess for men it happens when they sit on a particular throne. Maybe for women it happens more often when they're brushing teeth or doing other things in front of a mirror.
