This is a Rainbow Connections Announcement!
First the good news... I have been chosen to be the Innkeeper of the Year by the Iowa Bed and Breakfast Guild and Iowa Lodging Association! The award ceremony is on Sunday night in West Des Moines. We've invited my Mom and Dad to go along and we're going to spend the night in Des Moines and see some family and do some shopping on Monday so we can really relax and celebrate.
Bad news... I won't be around to choose the Orange and Black winners until Monday night, or more likely Tuesday evening. Tonight is opening night of a new murder mystery at the Blue Belle Inn and payday for my employees, and my mom's birthday, and .... I could go on... but bottom line, I don't have time to do my articles ahead of time like I sometimes do, so it will just have to wait.
I know some of you have had struggles getting used to the new upgrades, so hopefully extending the deadline for Orange and Black entries until next Tuesday will give you and me the extra time we need to figure things out.
While we're talking about the new upgrades... I have had a frustrating morning... I think what's happening is that people are posting entire albums to Rainbow Connections - albums that contain both orange and black photos and photos that are NOT orange and black. Which leaves me to sort and sift and try to figure out which ones were intended for the group and delete the rest, which is very time consuming.
I am not familiar with the new procedures, as I've not had time to post any photos since the upgrade, but if anyone has any ideas on how to solve the problem of only posting appropriate photos within an album to the group, I would apprecieate your thoughts.

Sue, your comments definitely shed some light on what is going on. We did have about 260 pages of photos at Rainbow Connections, and overnight, it went down to 250 pages. I guess as people put their photos in an album, they are disappearing from the group. :-(
I just hope everyone understands this so no orange and black photos disappear before I choose the winners!
Another idea for the people who post a lot of photos to a certain color would be to have a Rainbow Connections Orange and Black album... I'll have to do some experimenting myself when I have some more time.

Yes, everyone's groups are changing constantly as people are shifting their photos into their albums and their photos are taking on the new groups assigned to the albums!!
As for the group and album problem I think moderators will just have to make a "No album" rule and enforce it. It will be must to exhausting for moderators of groups like yours and my alter my pic group to have to search through some many photos to find entries and they will bury the legitimate ones. I will give a warning but if someone continues to break the rule I will have to delete them from the group. I spent the night before last deleting so many non entry photos from my group.
As for the problem of posting to an album and a group- just post the photo to the group and then if you want to include it in an album, save it with a different name and post it again.
As far as the update, I think all moderated groups are in a nightmare. I've had as many as 200 photos from one person dumped into my moderated "theme" groups (not one of the photos being related to the theme), and passing the moderator so going into the group without approval and then needing to be removed. I'm sick of it.
I am also getting 100+ photos in my groups daily. I hope we're getting points for these.
No worries about the group. I think we all know what it's like to get snowed under once in a while. That would be why I'm not posting here lately. :-)
I haven't even tried to upload since the update.

Take your time as far as Black and Orange goes, I would rather have you pay your employees! Lol. We can wait.
I agree with Sue about keeping contest entries as individual photos. I am going to repost my orange and black entry because I accidentally deleted it as a duplicate when forming my albums--whoops. But I'm glad to read this discussion because now I really know that I must keep photos separate if I don't want them viewed as part of an entire group.
