How much do pumpkins cost where you are ???

These pumpkins were in a very pricy area of town - so I wonder if they are just silly.  Or if this is about what everybody is paying this year to get the jack-o-lanterns up and running ???

Is my digital camera a lying crazy person or do I read NINE dollars on one of those puppies ??? !!!

thye are on sale at the grocery store of $5.99 for a "medium" sized pumpkin or 3 small ones for $10.00 I think it's nuts

They had some boy scouts selling them in front of a plaza last week for $5 a pumpkin. I had no idea that was a good deal.

Nice photo!!! They are about $6.00 here. I usually go out into the country and buy mine. We sometimes make pies but don't eat the seeds. Sometimes we just use them for decoration!!!

I have no idea what they are around here. I haven't seen very many being displayed at houses though. Maybe that's why.

My kids took my mom a pumpkin one year in October. I am not kidding.....she left it on her steps for 4 1/2 years. Oh yea, it was a beauty. SICK MOM!!! THROW IT AWAY ALREADY!!! It got to be a joke that it was her security system for her house, because no one would go past it but her.

They are 6.99 and up in my area. So, no your camera isn't lying. I haven't figured out why teh prices are so high thou. I grew pumpkin before. It is fairly easy to do. My kids want a pumpkin but we can't afford it right now. So, I plan on getting me a big container to put in the back yard and grow them a couple pumpkins next year.

The cheapest I could find them for this year was $6 a pumpkin. The farm festival that the girls and I usually go to was more like a summer carnival and the 10-12 pumpkins and other stuff was way overpriced compared to usual-- we left.

They're really expensive here and that's from stands on the side of the road. For a decent sized pumpkin it costs $8 to $10.

They definitely were more expensive this year. At the Farmer's Market, beautiful, large pumpkins were going for $10, which I thought was crazy, until I went to the pumpkin farm and saw the pumpkins there had gone up as well. I got some small-ish pumpkins for $3 each and paid $8 each for the two good-sized pumpkins we carved.

As close as I get to a pumpkin is drinking Shipyard's Pumkin Head Ale. The garden variety always steals my Halloween candy which ends with me smashing them to bits.

They range anywhere from $4.99 to $9.99 depending on size at the grocery store near us. My boyfriend's grandparents have a pumpkin patch though, so mine are free except for having to go out to the field to get them. :)

They are higher this year. I did see some at Von's for $3, but that is the only place that they weren't $6. At this rate, I am afraid to go to the pumpkin patches, they are always even higher than the stores!

I have never bought a pumpkin. OH NO. I have MISSED OUT on a slice of Americana!!!

However, I have had many a slice of pumpkin pie. That should count for something.

HA! I got three nice sized pumkins for $2 each! It was at the little honor-system road-side stand that I wrote about during summerpics. They were almost as big as their "big" ones, which were a whopping $3 each. Smaller ones than mine are $4 at Wal-Mart, more at Kroger

I always eat the seeds! In fact, that's usually why I buy a pumpkin. ;)

I think they're around 5.99 in the grocery store, but I saw one place offering 25 cents per pound, and I believe the place down the street charges 10 cents per pound.

One of the grocery stores around here has them advertised at $2.97, and another store has them advertised for .19 a pound. I do get the seeds, wash them, and then sprinkle them with salt, sometimes a bit of garlic powder, salt, and a tad of chili powder just for a different flavor than just "salted". My boy and I like the seeds with either flavorings every year.

Good God----those are some high priced pumpkins. I think ours were from the Walmart and they are around $4.

I drove into the country and found a local farmer selling them for 39 cents per pound for the larger ones and $1 a piece for small ones. This was very good indeed as I supply the pumpkins for our annual Pumpkin party. the very large ones wer3e about $4,50 a pumpkin. I never buy them in the grocery stores but make a day of it in the country with my grands

Yep they are high, it might have to do with money problems or gas or other natral factors, the are stinking high.
SAt the Cider Mill we went to, it was $.29/pound, but we got them even cheaper for some reason. We had around 85-90 pounds worth of pumpkins (we each got one, but some are BIG), and after the guy weighed it, he wrote it in as 61 pounds. We got 5 nice sized pumpkins (they seriously took over our entire trunk) for just under $20.

At our WalMart they were $5.98, then they went down to $1.00 for about 2 days and then back up to $4.98 until today when I couldn't find anymore. At the other grocery store they were $6 for a medium - large pumpkin. On the way out to Berlin Ohio, I did see them on the side of the road for $1.00 each for med- large pumpkins.
