OK, so since the last upgrade I haven't been on Gather much, first we had no internet connection, then the laptop crashed (that's a whole other post). Anyway I couldn't sleep anymore so I got up and decided to come on over to Gather to see what I could do.

I left some comments and went check out my photos which had to be put into albums. Fine, I created a couple of albums and moved photos as I went along. Then I created several more albums and I was moving right along. I came to a photo that had double posted, I know I didn't do that, but I added one to the album, the other one I trashed.

I happened to open up one of the albums when I was dropping a photo into it. Fine, I backed out of the album and went back to my photos waiting to be sorted into albums. None of the photos I had sorted were sorted any longer, everything was back in the pile waiting to be sorted. So I started resorting the photos and low and behold I have another photo which has made a copy, but not just one copy like the first one, I have 17 copies of the exact same photo.

At that moment I got disgusted and just left the photo and sorting them into albums alone. Am I do something wrong here? If so, someone please correct me! I am trying to look at the upgrades in a positive light, but it's not going very well for me today.

Sounds frustrating to say the least! I haven't tried putting my pics into albums, nor have I uploaded any pics since the upgrade so I can't be any help other than to let you know there have been all sorts of glitches since the upgrade.

It's not anything you're doing. It's Jagger! It seems like every time an upgrade is made, the glitches get worse, there are more of them, they affect more members and they last longer before they're fixed. I went back to the article I wrote yesterday, but didn't publish because I couldn't get the picture upload to work so I could add images, to try again this morning. I've been at it for an hour this morning...and have been able to get only one picture to take hold and go through. I have 16 pictures I want to put with my post and I'm NOT about to sit here until midnight messing with this crap. I give up! I'm probably not going to post today at all...or all weekend. Maybe I'll try again Monday...maybe I'll just say the heck with it all and not even bother with Gather anymore.

i dont like the picture album
i dont like the fact people are now sending whole albums and its harder to view and rate and i think it will be abused and all

Thanks for stopping in and leaving your comments. I don't know anything else about the upgrades other than what I just had happen to me, but from what I read on other articles, the troubles are everywhere, we will see!!
Thanks Rob for letting me know it's not me, but this Jagger thingy. I have been back to my albums and once again I have photos that were in albums out of albums and I now have 15 copies of one image.....LUcky me!

those 15 images will vanish usually if you refresh and as you are moving images you will see that same images show up again if you start to move it a circle with a line threw it should show up to tell you its not really there. a royal pain in the butt
chalk it up to another stupid up grade. oh and you do not have to put images in albums

I did create an album or two, but figured out rather quickly that when I put the photos into albums they do not get nearly as many comments as individual photos get. I am now just trying to figure out how to use the new system to do things the OLD way!

I'll sit out the album ...until it's going smoother and the kinks seem to be out...and when I have a use for it. BUT, I do appreciate Gather trying to improve...

I don't post a lot of photos, so I don't really understand the concept. Can you keep posting your photos without putting them in albums?

I'm not even doing much at all with photos, let alone the albums....sounds way, way too complicated for me, plus I think I'd rather stick to commenting on stuff and posting articles........to view photos, I do it just one at a time. Wonder how many more upgrades are coming along? It all seems very, very confusing and frustrating!

i dont know. ever since they upgraded i have problems posting and finding my pics at all. it used to just open my pics that i have on my PC but since the upgrade i have to search for a long time to find them

I am not using the Albums I am just leaving the Pictures as they are
I am sorry it caused you so much stress I have heard a lot of Members complaining about it one of the reasons I am leaving mine as they are
